Beatnic Prestige are: a mod/punk/indie outfit from Dunfermline, Fife. Drawn together in July 2006 by a common love for all things mod, we’ve been hard at it ever since. Taking influence from bands like The Jam, The Who and The Libertines, we bagan our jaunt. After a few weeks of intense rehearsals in our recording studio, ’The Shed’, our first gig was a sell out show to 300+ at PJ Molloys in Dunfermline. From there we played The Cavern in Liverpool for our second gig as part of a 3 day mini tour in Liverpool. Since then we’ve played some top top gigs, with the help of our ever eager fan base, travelling the length and breadth of Britain. Dunfermline, Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Liverpool and London have all been hit by our fast, furious, energetic sets, and the feedback from gig to gig has been nothing but positive. You should decide for yourself though because there’s a lot of people out there who talk shite. We also run our own club night, ’Weekend Revolution’. Showcasing local talent and giving ourselves a platform to play, every night has been a sell out so far. Hopefully it continues. Other highlights include: being chosen as Jim Gellatelys xfm x-posure showcase band on his XFM Scotland show, Vic Galloway selecting us as his ’unsigned heroes’ on his BBC Scotland Radio show, Sell out gigs at the Dundee Doghouse, London’s ’Old Blue Last’, a sell out New Years Eve gig at King Tuts with The Law and ’away days’ in Liverpool (twice) and Cumbria. We’ve also recorded a 5 track EP at T-Pot studios in Perthshire, which sold out as a limited edition in 1 day. There’s plenty more to come, and we canni wait. See you there. Fire it in.
