Kelly “Mac”

In 1999, she started off as a part time receptionist for Radio One, Inc. With time and hard work, she was later promoted to the Programming Assistant, where she was eventually named the Music Coordinator and became a Part Time On Air Personality. In May of 2003, Kelly relocated to Charleston SC, as the Assistant Program Director, Music Director & Afternoon Show Host for WWBZ, Hot 98.9 FM. After a year, the station changed the format (to Spanish) so in May 2004, she joined Charleston’s legendary station, WWWZ, Z 93 Jamz as the Night Show Host, where after only 2 books, she obtained a 30 share in her targeted demo (18-34).

In January 2005 Ms. Mac moved to the Gulf Coast to co-host mornings on WBLX which covers the Biloxi, Mobile & Pensacola markets. She recently left WBLX to pursue a new oppurtunity as the Afternoon Show Host in Greenville, SC at WJMZ. You can listen live online at www.1073jamz.com. Her goal is to make it to the Miami, Atlanta, Tampa or Orlando market.

Kelly has always worked in the Entertainment Industry. She was a Spokes Model for Budweiser, Verizon Wireless, Kool’s Cigarettes and has been featured in various print ads, hair shows and fashion shows.

Ms. Mac attended High School in Cleveland, Ohio and later attended Tri-C College where she became a certified Emergency Medical Technician. Her hometown and family is in the Virginia Beach area, however she resided in Cleveland for 15 years before moving to Charleston.

Kelly enjoys traveling, cooking, swimming, shooting pool and a variety of music. She also enjoys helping out in community schools & Little League Baseball Teams. In addition, she enjoys speaking to children about the importance of staying in school and succeeding.

Kelly hopes to continue to grow & utilize her skills in the media/broadcasting field. She firmly believes that “you can have anything in life that you want, just figure out what it is, stay focused and if it’s for you, you will have it.” Her famous words of advice are, “you have to believe in yourself first, before you can expect anyone else to believe in you.”
