"My mother said that I was special cuz even a snow storm couldn't stop my arrival. Born Erick Johnson on a cold day in February, this lyrical giant would soon learn that entertainment was to be his calling. Catching the bug in the mid-eighties, 6yx says that a single challenge to 'back up ya shit" would catapult him into the world of hip-hop, and after honing his skillz a supernova would form. In 1998 his career took a definitive shape when he joined forces with Motive, Koppo, and Lil-Lo to form the Southern Koalytion. This union produced a solid following and an underground regional killer, 'As the World Spins". Still loyal to his SK Brethren 6yx felt the pull of his beloved 615. " Bad boy shit brought me home, but trouble don't last always". His homeward journey in 2000 would spawn the Collaboration with Cadence and Paperweight recordsthat produced Cadence & 6yx 5yve: Til My Death", this resulted in a serious spike in 6yx's fan base. "I will forever love them cats, P-DUB!!!!!" The years would pass and 6yx would go on to form alliances with the I-65 F.A.M.M. and Yayoda records, before finally giving us all what we yearned for a taste of the Big Man solo. While perfecting his stage presence with performances with his cohorts and openings that include such heavy hitters like 8-Ball and MJG, Fabolous, and Twista, 6yx knew the timing was right. The result was 2004's "Collective Muscle" and 2k5's "Misplaced Cannons vol.2: Da Mixxtape, released through the hard work of "Nigga 4 life, Playa partna 4 Eva", Trevor McWilliams and his company TJM Management. 2006 finds us eagerly awaiting his new lp "Misplaced Cannons vol.2:Da Studio Sessions to be released by Str8 Raw Productions out of Nashville. With his new management team (2K Management) 6yx feels that his dreams are about to come true and that is what the battle has been for. This is 6yx 5yve!!!!
