The use of open tunings,harmonics,slamming percussive elements has given him a sonic as well visual style that's quite unique to say the least. He started busking the streets in Montreal around the early 90's and has travelled and sold many cd's across Canada and some parts of the US. 'I have been so blessed to have been able to do what I love to and have gotten some truely amazing reactions,the kind of immediate response and just meeting soo many people from around the world has been really great'. He really enjoys doing improvisational playing where not only the crowd but himself often have no idea where it'll go..'if only I would have recorded some of this stuff' he adds. He uses a numerical tuning system that he developed that therefore even with a capo he knows he's in 75725 while knowing what key he's in. Mike has had a double necked acoustic made for him by Louis Gosselin from Quebec City. He has also been working with bass player Steeve Poirier resulting with 'Gottaleslie' and 'the Gathering' as a few first takes. ..
