About Me

Jason Mink is a freelance reed player living in the Lancaster, PA area. His specialization in Flute, Clarinet, and Saxophone has led him to all sorts of interesting gigs. He served 4 years in the United States Navy Band. He played shows from California to Maine and Texas to Canada during his stint as the reed player on the national tour of The Full Monty. Currently, he plays at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre, with an absolutely amazing collection of pit musicians. a href="http://myspace.nuclearcentury.com" style="position:absolute; top:0px; left:50%; margin-left:-235px; z-index:9; width:80px; height:15px; background-image:url('http://myspace.nuclearcentury.com/imag es/banners/banner8813.gif');

Sounds Like: The recordings one the top of the page are all live, rough recordings. Unfortunately, I have never had the pleasure of being in a recording studio.

"Overture" from Beehive: The 60's Musical- A recording from closing night of the run at the Dutch Apple in January. The EQ is a liitle wierd due to the fact that the recording is straight from the sound board, but you get the picture.

"Blame It On The Summer Night" from Rags- Recorded at a cabaret in Mesa, AZ at the Broadway Palm West Dinner Theatre. Beth Burrier plays piano on this track as well as on "Speak Low". The singer was Keara Collier, who has a great playful, sexy voice. She made this one of my favorite songs!.

"Speak Low" from One Touch Of Venus- This is one of those great songs that has transcended the genre of musical theatre. The vocalist is Nathan Albert, one of the great male voices in theatre today, in my humble opinion. Look for this guy on broadway..... soon.

"Flying Home"- This is a recording of the Navy Band that I was in doing a concert with Clark Terry. I am on the low end of the sax section playing Bari Sax. The band was absolutely great that day... easily one of the best musical endeavors I have ever been involved with. The album it comes from is titled "The Great Lakes Experience" and if you like what you hear, you can purchase it on iTunes.
