Son of Perdition

I began my term on this earth within a protected "Kingdom" known as the Mormon Church. I was raised to believe that all truth in life was derived from their small and limited doctrine.I entered my adult years as a missionary for their cause in South America. I followed the rules, I believed.But the spirit that was born on the Year of The Dragon was ever restless and eventually I could not ignore the truth.I decided to leave and I was told I could go anytime, "All we need to do is conduct a "Bishop's Court" to make it official. I asked what would happen and I was told if I was certain I wanted to leave they would grant me excommunication.I did not allow them to hold this court of theirs. Instead I hired an attorney and sent them a declaration indicating that I quit. The document stated very clearly that should they ever attach the term "excommunication" to my name I would initiate immediate legal action.They agreed.They also made it clear I would be considered a "Son of Perdition" as described in the book "Mormon Doctrine" by one of their most revered "General Authorities" Bruce R. McConkie.So here I am. Proud of my new label.I walk my own path and I shall never look back!
