TV and movies (Too much, some say), a lifelong fascination with ROCK AND ROLL, but I also love pop, soul, R&B, country, traditional jazz and even some classical. Eating out, shows, concerts, just hanging with friends, shopping, surfing the web, collecting thousands of vinyl records and CDs (You can always find me if there's a record show in town!)
Anybody from anywhere!! Especially gay men!!!
I'm a child of the 70s, but that in no way limits my love of all kinds of music. I grew up on a handful of Al Jolson 78s, and having seen all Abbott & Costello films hundreds of times, I also dig the Andrews Sisters. But I also love KISS, Heart, ELO, Hendrix, Dusty Springfield, Barry White, Gladys Knight, Sabbath, AC/DC, Blondie, 70s Disco (Trammps!!!)CCR, Ronnie Milsap, ABBA, Donna Summer, Allmans, Stevie Wonder, EWF, Led Zep, Lesley Gore, Beach Boys, Mamas & Papas, Lou Christie, Stylistics, U2, Supremes, Dionne Warwick, Fleetwood Mac, Flock of Seagulls, Aretha, Dolly Parton, Foreigner, The Judds, The Kinks, Styx, Ronettes, Tony Orlando & Dawn, WAR, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tina Turner, Johnny Mathis, Bee Gees, Monkees, The Who, Ella, Frankie(Valli), Pretenders, Police, Jackie Wilson, JOAN JETT!!! TOM JONES!!!!! And too many more to list here.
Where do I start? Just because a film is in B&W doesn't mean it can't be a riveting piece of work. Sorry Wrong Number, All About Eve, Thief of Baghdad, Gone With the Wind, Now Voyager, Sound of Music, Phantom of the Paradise, Rocky Horror, Karloff "Frankenstein" films, Harold & Maude, Kentucky Fried Movie, Airplane I & II, Dark Victory, Lifeboat, Alien films, The Thing (BOTH!!), Young Frankenstein, cheesy 50s monster films, and "Stepmom" never fails to turn on my waterworks!!
#1: THE MUNSTERS!!! Greatest show ever!! But also love F- Troop, Roseanne, LOST, Prison Break, 4400, Monk, Supernatural, Smallville, LAW & ORDER SVU!!, Are You Being Served?, Taxi, Star Trek (Orig and TNG), Twilight Zone, ALF, M*A*S*H*, The Nanny, Golden Girls, Oz, Mary Tyler Moore, I Love Lucy, Jeffersons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, ER, Bewitched, Frasier, Good Times, House, Home Improvement, Allo, Allo, can I stop now, my hands are cramping!!
Best book ever written:"To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee (the film is required viewing)but I love early Stephen King, Robert McCammon, Dickens, Shakespeare (If you get past the archaic language, these are some gruesome and sexy works!!) and any books on rock groups, actors, film (esp. horror!) and on the socio-political implications of rock music on history.
I have no heroes, because they are, after all, human, and human frailties often disillusion us. If I had to choose one person I admire over anyone, it would have to be Sarah Ferguson, Dutchess of York, for her strength, her candor, her goodness.
