My Interests

Film and Theatre,

I'd like to meet:

Writers, Directors, Actors. Drama Teachers looking to expand their knowledge of the Mosaic Acting System. People smart enough to figure out I wasn't born in 1906. My age is none of your damned business (which obviously means I'm getting old)!

Music:

Most kinds - From Big Band to Buffett.

Movies:

My favorite - "Casablanca" I love film noir, and anything that's character driven. Not a big fan of "special effects" movies. for example, I thought "Good Will Hunting" was ten times the picture that "Titanic" was. (Although I'll be happy to appear in one!)

Television:

I mostly watch movies, and series like "Deadwood" and "The Sopranos." I prefer episodics to sit-coms.

Books:

My favorite is "Shogun." I like historical novels, mysteries, and Louis Lamour. I love the Harry Potter books - fun and creative!

Heroes:

My oldest son, Perry. Actors, for what they have to overcome.

Sharks in the waters . . .

From Charlie's Desk . . . Beware, Folk, there are sharks in the waters! We actors want to do this so badly that we are easy to take advantage of.We want to believe it when someone tell us that they...

From Charlie's Desk

When I'm asked to speak to a group of aspiring actors, I usually ask the question "Why do you want to be an actor?"  As I go around the room, pin-pointing different people to answer, I'll get res...
