TAKING first place in BE!ON! Music Entertainment’s Vocalist Competition in 2004, singer-songwriter Masamune broke out onto the J-Pop music scene with his debut mini-album, EVERLASTING, in September of 2005. The CD’s lead track, Eternity, got good play time on Japanese radio the other tracks were also highly rated. EVERLASTING is available for purchase at www.amazon.co.jp
SINCE Masamune’s mini-album release, he has remained active in the live performing circuit in the Tokyo area as well as began collaborations with other artists as songwriter and producer.
MASAMUNE’S was one of the co-founders of the Indies record label, Win Win Records, in May of 2008. He is currently involved in producing the label’s first CD maxi-single, SOAR, with opera singer Jeffrey Trambley. Set for release on September 26, 2008, Masamune served as songwriter and executive producer for the CD.
MASAMUNE’S first full album tentatively titled “Here With You Now,” is currently in the production stages and is scheduled for release in March, 2009. The album boasts a 13 song line up and listeners will enjoy hearing a more developed Masamune style in rocky ballads, upbeat feel good songs and catchy pop-influenced tracks.
