梅川良満（YOSHIMITSU UMEKAWA）
Yoshimitsu Umekawa (1976-) is a photographer born in Tokyo, Japan. In 1998, he helped a workshop by Irina Ionesco and stayed in France to show his works to Jeanloup Sieff. Returned to Japan in 1999. He then has worked extensively for culture magazines, CDs, advertisements and exhibitions as a freelance photographer. He has photographed a number of domestic and international musicians such as Daft Punk and Missy Elliott. He also does art/photo directions for CDs as well as PV directions. His photograhy has a reputation for his unique lighting and deep colors. His representative work is a series of [FANCY HEAD] which features underground culture scenes in Tokyo. The theme of his recent works is Yokai or Japanese monsters. Title undecided.
写真家。1976年、東京生まれ。 1998å¹´ IRINA IONESCOのワークショプを手伝う。 同年、渡仏。JEANLOUP SIEFFに会い、作品を見せる。1999年、帰国。 以後フリーランスとしてカルチャー誌、CDã€å ºƒå‘Šã€å±•è¦§ä¼šç­‰ã‚’中心に幅広く活動。DAFT PUNK, Missy Elliottç­‰å›½å†…å¤–ã®ãƒŸãƒ¥ãƒ¼ã‚¸ã‚·ãƒ£ãƒ³ã‚’æ•°å¤šãæ’®å½ ±ã—ている。またCDのアートディレクター、フ ォトディレクター、PVã®ãƒ‡ã‚£ãƒ¬ã‚¯ã‚·ãƒ§ãƒ³ã‚‚æ‰‹æ Ž›ã‘る。彼の独特の光源の使い方と深い色彩㠁«ã¯å®šè©•ãŒæœ‰ã‚‹ã€‚ 代表作に東京のクラブのアンダーグラウンド シーンを撮影したシリーズ 「FANCY HEAD」がある。 近年、取り組んでいるテーマは、日本全国の 妖怪。題未定。
