About Me

HY formed in year 2000 with five high school friends in Okinawa. The band's popularity rose rapidly after a series of street performances, and their debut album, "Departure" (Okinawa-only) sold out immediately. In 2002 the band conducted a joint-live performance with LINKIN PARK, further solidifying their reputation as one of Japan’s top artists.
Their 2nd Album "Street Story" released in April 2003 and immediately topped the charts, ranking at 1 for 4 straight weeks (Indies Artist Record). Their 3rd album "TRUNK" was released the following year and yet again debuted at 1 – the first time such a feat has been accomplished by an Indies Artist.
The band's latest album "Confidence" created yet another Indies Music Record by debuting at 1 and retaining the top spot for 2 consecutive weeks.
HY has sold out all of their solo concert ticket. Their 2006 one-man tour was a 47-location nation wide tour but sold out on the day the tickets became available. The tour gathered over 88,000 people.
On December 2006, HY's "KUMAKARA AMAE" (From the present to the future) solo concert held in Nihon Budokan and Osaka-jou Hall sold out immediately and gathered over 20,000 fans in a mere 2 days. HY's "future" is to enter the international music scene – that dream starts with their first-ever overseas tour, beginning at Canada (Toronto) and extending to seven major US cities…
With hope and a brave spirit, HY's "departure" is about to begin…HY Official Site HY Mode -English Ver- OPEN!!
