瘋癲の物語は、バンド「Naked Tracks」のドラマーM.FUJITANIと、DJチーム「BEAT TRICKS」のメンバーとして活動していたDJ SUWAから始まる。共に京都のヒップホップ・゠·ãƒ¼ãƒ³ã§æ´»å‹•ã—、楽曲の共作も行っていた2人㠁¯ã€è‡ªåˆ†ãŸã¡ã®åˆ¶ä½œã—た音源を発表する場と㠁—てイヴェント「瘋癲」を渋谷The Roomで開催する。しかし、そのイヴェントはだŸã å˜ã«éŸ³æºã‚’発表するのではなく、様々な゠¢ãƒ¼ãƒ†ã‚£ã‚¹ãƒˆã‚’è¿Žãˆã€ã‚»ãƒƒã‚·ãƒ§ãƒ³ã‚’é€šã—ã¦éŸ³æ¥ ½ã‚’構築するというオーガニックかつ実験的だªã‚¤ãƒ´ã‚§ãƒ³ãƒˆã ã£ãŸã€‚そしてそのイヴェントだ«ã€å…ƒMond GrossoのB-BANDJ、ソロ活動を活発化させていたNa ked ArtsのMILIという2MC、そしてM.FUJITANIと「Cool Struttin'」というバンドを結成していたギタリ ストGUROãŒå‚åŠ ã—ãŸäº‹ã§ã€ç¾åœ¨ã®ãƒ¡ãƒ³ãƒãƒ¼ãŒå‡ ºä¼šã„、瘋癲が形作られていった。
瘋癲の制作の中心地となったのは、M.FUJITANIだ®æ‰€æœ‰ã™ã‚‹äº¬éƒ½ã®ã‚¹ã‚¿ã‚¸ã‚ªã€Œãƒžãƒƒã‚·ãƒ´ãƒ»ã‚¹ã‚¿ã‚ ¸ã‚ªã€ã ã£ãŸã€‚そしてスタジオにMILI、B-BANDJ、 DJ SUWAが集い、各々の経験とスキルを活かした゠»ãƒƒã‚·ãƒ§ãƒ³ã‚’通して瘋癲というグループ、そだ—てスタイルを確立していく。その動きの中だ§2001年には「THE BEGINING E.P」「THE OVERFLOWING E.P」と2枚の瘋癲名義のシングルをリリース〠ã¾ãŸã€ãƒ–ルーノートのコンピレーション「NE W JAZZ STYLE」への参加など、その存在を徐々にリス㠃Šãƒ¼ã¸æ˜Žã‚‰ã‹ã«ã—ていく。そして04年、グルム¼ãƒ—として初のアルバム「MUSIC IS EXPRESSION」を発表。個々の卓越したスキルと゠»ãƒƒã‚·ãƒ§ãƒ³ã«ã‚ˆã£ã¦ç”Ÿã¿å‡ºã•ã‚ŒãŸæœªçŸ¥ã®ã‚°ãƒ«ãƒ ¼ãƒ´ã¯ã€ãƒªã‚¹ãƒŠãƒ¼ã«å¤§ããªè¡æ’ƒã¨æ–°é®®ãªåˆºæ¿€ã‚ ’与え、瘋癲の名前を確固たるものとした。
しかし同年、M.FUJITANIの急逝という悲しみが゠°ãƒ«ãƒ¼ãƒ—を襲う。だが、その悲しみに他のメム³ãƒãƒ¼ã¯ç«‹ã¡æ­¢ã¾ã‚‹ã“となく、05年に2ndアルバ ム「FLIP HOP」をリリースし、新たなページをまた紡い でいった。そして、その輪の中にはM.FUJITANIだ®æ—§å‹ã§ã‚‚あり、2nd以降トラックメイクと共だ«ã‚¨ãƒ³ã‚¸ãƒ‹ã‚¢ãƒªãƒ³ã‚°ã‚’担当するGUROの姿もあっ㠁Ÿã€‚
06年に発表された3rdアルバム「PIECES OF TIMES」からはGUROが正式メンバーとして加入。 そして各メンバーもソロ作品を計画するなど 、活発な創作意欲を見せ、その歩みは更に新 しい地平を切り開いていこうとしている。【 HPプロフィール引用】
FU-TEN
Fu-ten was originally created by M. FUJITANI (drummer of “Naked Tracks”) and DJ SUWA (member of the DJ team called “BEAT TRICKS”). Both M. FUJITANI and DJ SUWA were doing their own things in Kyoto, Japan while making beats together.
To spread the good vibes of their music, they started a regular event called “Fu-ten” at “The ROOM” (Tokyo). The event was not only an opportunity for them to perform live and expose people to their music, but also an opportunity to perform with various artists. The event was a success, and through many sessions with various artists, they gained a lot of experience and learned more about contracting music deeply and organically.
B-BANDJ (a former member of “Mondo Grosso”), MILI (a member of “Naked Arts” who is aggressively working on his solo project), and GURO (a fellow band member with M. FUJITANI in a band called “Cool Struttin’”) eventually joined the event to form the current Fu-Ten.
Fu-Ten usually got together @ “Massive Studio” (owned by M. FUJITANI) in Kyoto.
MILI, B-BANDJ, DJ SUWA, and M. FUJITANI improved their Fu-Ten style through their sessions in this studio.
In 2001, 2 singles, “THE BEGINNING E.P” and “THE OVERFLOWING E.P” were created through these sessions. Furthermore, one of their songs was put on the Blue Note’s compilation album “NEW JAZZ STYLE,” consequently helping Fu-ten’s name become well known by various music genres’ listeners.
In 2004, Fu-ten released their first album “MUSIC IS EXPRESSION.” Each member contributed their unique skills to the massive groove on this album. The name “Fu-ten” soon became increasingly famous in the music industry because it stimulated a fresh experience and huge impact with a groove that people had never experienced before.
In 2004, an unfortunately motorcycle accident occurred, taking the life of M. FUJITANI. As tragic as this was, all the members of Fu-Ten did not stop making music and released their 2nd album “FLIP HOP”, released in 2005, with a huge involvement from GURO.
In 2006, GURO became a formal member of Fu-ten, and they released their 3rd album “PIECES OF TIME.”
Currently, each member is working on their solo projects and their movement seems to never stop as they are always trying to move forward to the next stage.
