About Me

I love music...period. I've got my faves, but I really believe that music is the greatest thing that you can share with anyone. Even more than love. I've spent pretty much the better part of 28 years being involved in the music business. I haven't been performing as much in the last few years as I've wanted to, but I've recently rekindled that fire. COMING SOON, THE BETTY FORD DROPOUTS!!!! I love to watch live music. Is there a good band in town? Drop me a line, let's go!

My Interests

Jack Daniels, Jagermeister, Sam Adams, Music, audio editing, music remixing, singing at the The Tickled Trout with my friends, script writing, sharing ideas, Watching Indie films, documentaries, and REALLY good television. Discovering new music, Listening to local DJ's. I've also been bit by the photography bug. Take a look at my photo albums and tell me what you think.

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet funny, creative people. What can we do? What can we create? What can we put together that will put the world on its ear? Music, good food, and good laughs are so important, but, so are people that can speak their minds without coming off like they owe the world an explanation. I'm very ambitious, tenacious, and driven. I expect the same out of my friends. If you want balance in a relationship, shouldn't you have an equal? If you need focus, let me help. That's what I need you for too. Most of all, I HATE Liars. Don't say that you're my friend and truly NOT be. Don't say you're going to do something and NOT. We're all here for the experience, so don't taint it with Negativity.

Music:

I'm pretty open minded but, generally, lean towards classic rock, hard rock, and, especially, the blues. Stevie Ray Vaughn, Los Lonely Boys, Venice, Clapton do it for me every time. I LOVE guitars, so that's a prerequisite. IF you hadn't noticed by now, that I'm a BIG fan of Fender Strats. One of these days, I'm going to own one vintage Strat for every day of the year...just watch. =) I've started a guitar collection that now tops THIRTEEN. Whew! That's a lot of guitars...hehehe...I've been starting to get into some alternative and electronica lately too. Just had an exposure to Tex-Mex in Austin and I loved it. Also, a band new to me, Wilco, I've grown attached to lately. If you think there's a great band to see, lemme know and I'm there with ya.

Most of what you'll hear me listening to: Eric Clapton (Gotta luv da Blues!!!); John Mayer Trio <--- NEW STUFF IS AWESOME!!; 80's rock-metal; She Wants Revenge, Shinedown, Gorillaz, TONS OF MUSIC I get exposed to...hehe...pun intended...at work. Lately, I've had a friend expose me to stuff like Black Heart Procession, Autolux, Low, Stereophonics, Reverberation. So much new neat stuff!! (Yes, I said "Neat". Fuck you!!)If there's a band you think I should check out. Send me a link and I'll be happy to look into it.

Movies:

BROTHERS OF THE HEAD!!!!, Happiness, Palindromes, Beat, Buffalo '66, The Departed, Napoleon Dynamite, Crash, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, My "Stripperella" DVD's, American Splendor, School of Rock, Blackhawk Down, Get Shorty, 50 First Dates, High Fidelity, Say Anything (Ok...anything with John Cusack), Dogma (Any Kevin Smith film too!), Shallow Hal, The Terminal, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings...Let's put it this way...I have almost 500 movies at home, from Romantic comedies to Sci-Fi to war movies to thrillers to serious dramas. I can go along way here. My only requirement is that it's a good story. Honestly, my guilty pleasure - GODZILLA MOVIES!!

Television:

I LOVE CSI Vegas!!! I also like the History, Military, and Discovery channels, Comedy Central, Nip/Tuck, The Shield and Rescue Me on F/X, NCIS and The Unit on CBS, Robot Chicken on the Cartoon Network, and my DAILY dose of JAG (that's right, JAG) and Nash Bridges. I may watch a fairly decent amount of TV, but it doesn't rule me. THAT'S WHAT DVR'S ARE FOR!!!

Books:

'Radio Waves' by Jim Ladd, the 'Teachings of don Juan' series by Carlos Castenada, 'If Chins Could Talk' by Bruce Campbell, Charles Bukowski...anything, Henry Miller... anything, 'The Dirt' from Motley Crue, 'The Heroine Diaries' by Nikki Sixx, and Jay Rose "Producing Great Sound for Digital Video." Also on my reading list is 'Naked Lunch' by Burroughs, 'The 101 Habits of Highly Successful Screenwriters', 'The Screenplay Workbook', and 'FM' by Richard Neer.

Heroes:

Eric Clapton, My brother Marco, Les Coulter, Jim Moody, Rico Madriaga, the guys in Venice (the band), the Pine Mountain Logs, Henry Garza (Los Lonely Boys), Jim Ladd, (Uncle) Joe Benson, Bob Coburn, Rita Wild, Cynthia Fox, Long Paul, Randy Maranz, Remy Maxwell, Stew Hererra, Mark and Brian...KLOS [STILL] Rocks!!!
