Born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Capital Homes Jay “ATL” Johnson has always had a strong passion for music. Growing up around his older brother Erik “Undiputed” Armstead didn’t really leave him any other choice but to. Like any younger brother ATL latched onto his older brother and started listening to all of his brothers favorite rap artists: Outkast,Jay Z,Cash Money,T.I.,Ludacris etc. This inspired him to try and be like his role models. Every day ATL would go and steal his brothers tape deck cd player and mic and try his hardest to make music.As ATL grew older and bettered his craft he began networking at school meeting meeting new people who shared the same talent as him. During this process he met and bonded with still his very close friend Antuan “Hoven The Great” Major. The two began making names for themselves around Sweetwater Middle School battle rapping everybody who thought they stood a chance entering talent shows,performing at pep rallies etc. Then the two came up with a brilliant idea…”BlackOutBoiz aka B.O.B.”BloackOutBoiz consisted of 4 individuals ATL,Hoven The Great,Da General and Bad Newz aka J.Wynter.BlackOutBoiz became locally known when the BlackOutBoiz collab mixtape with Certified Geez entitled “Tha Recognition” was released in the fall of 2006. Afterwards the fans were constantly asking “When are you going to drop a solo mixtape?” So ATL immediately began working on “My Turn”. When “My Turn” was released in January 2007 people just noticed what ATL was made of. Hit Singles “Hollowz ft.Da General,Izzy and Di Di. “U Cant Get Like Me”, “Runnin Bacc ft. Bad Newz and Hoven” and “2 Cool ft. Bad Newz and Hoven” expanded his fanbase “It’s My Time To Shine” says ATL. So with his intensions of attacking the world by storm we’ll see what ATL has in store when “Killer Instinctz” Drops in 2008.As of now year 2009 ATL has been with groups known as Get Money Entertainment, Swagged Up Entertainment and also So Arrogant. ATL has dropped a mixtape in the past year of 2008 with the title known as “Gettin 2 Da Money”. “Getting 2 Da Money” was a great success cause ATL has been in the game for a good set of time. “Gettin 2 Da Money” featured many different artists like Tony Montana,Izzy,Calio,Hoven The Great and others as well and had an extreme amount of hit singles like “Gettin 2 da Money”, “So Arrogant”, “Hurt” and many more. The peoples reaction to this mixtape was unbelievable! In a matter the mixtape was a free download to the listeners, there was an extreme number of downloads that where done by the audience. This mixtape "Gettin 2 Da Money" was also professionally pressed up and given away for free. ATL now has a whole lot of fans and friends who are waiting to hear more from him. ATL now said my year of 2008 was wonderful but its time to look ahead and he stated, “Wait till you see how the crowd reacts when i turn diz thang up".......ALL DA WAY TURNT UP!! ft travis porter was a big success but ATL felt liike he was bein put into da shadows of the song because everybody thought it was travis porters song and not ATL's so he decided to change a name and do wut it takes to make sure ppl knew da truth...."Roscoe Dash datz it" he said "Itz catchy and it stands out" The next step was handling business wit da song "How can i make it understood dat diz iz my song in a fast manner"?
