Yung Heat rededicated his life to the Lord on March 22, 2006. He began to write and produce music from his bedroom.On October 28, 2006, Yung Heat won a $25,000 competition against nine secular hip hop artists with him being the tenth and only christian artist. Yung Heat took this opportunity to share his style of music as a witness to the community and industry that young people can have fun and be saved without the negative influences of words or lyrics. Since then he has traveled state to state ministring through the art of hip hop with a powerful transforming message that has not only reached the youth but adults as well. The Lord has given him a kingdom assignment for the youth and he humbly accepts it.Yung Heat released his debut album (The Pick of the Litter) on March 16, 2007. He came up in a dysfunctional family lifestyle (violence, perversion, drug dealing and gambling). Yung Heat lost his father to the streets at the age of twelve. After the sudden death of his father, it seemed as if his life began to go for bad in the worse way. He started failing in school, almost became a father at an early age and got in trouble with the law. After receiving a criminal charge for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, he realized that he was headed down the same path as his father. Yung Heat chose not to repeat that cycle but rather to break the generational curse that was on his bloodline. God had a greater purpose and plan for his life. Today he ministers in churches and the streets through his gift of hip hop music.
