Goodtime Charlie

We gotta steal a car. I'm going to Mexico, and I'm gonna shoot that guy in the face.

About Me

A few random/disjointed facts about me: I've road tripped through most of the states in the continental United States, of which I prefer The Dakotas and California. I went to school in Vermont to be a cartoonist. It didn't pan out. I'm an Eagle Scout, so naturally I'm a little bit of a pyro, which probably explains the longtime smoking habit to a degree. I've hiked 90 miles in New Mexico. I can't say I like New Mexico that much, sorry New Mexico. I am, however, unabashed in my dislike of Vermont. Vermont can go screw.I've been Edge for six months now and I'm living the best life that I've ever lived.

My Interests

dead pan humor, wasting time on wikipedia, good food, good friends, prosthetic gore effects, fire, serial killers and cannibals, cartoons and comics, experimental sci-fi, the 20's from the modern vantage point, thunderstorms, music, drawing, movies, absurdism, and satire.recycling, reusing, and not littering and all of that nice stuff.

I'd like to meet:

People with interesting stories to tell and/or a notably keen sense of humor. People interested in making movies. People that are interested in making movies with me, in particular. I don't really care in what capacity. I just really enjoy the entire process.

Music:

The favorites depending on my mood, in no particular order are: Billy Bragg, Rocket From The Crypt, Fear, Menomena, Cat Power, Shudder to Think, Morphine, Sunset Rubdown, Camper Van Beethoven, The Mountain Goats, The Pogues, Damon Albarn, Blur, The Reverend Horton Heat, Starlight Mints, Elvis Costello, The Jam, The Smiths, The Thermals, The Hold Steady, The Wedding Present, The Misfits, X, T. Rex, Grizzly Bear, LCD Soundsystem, Spoon, The Dismemberment Plan, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Swingin' Utters, Battles, Early Brian Eno, The Marked Men, Built to Spill, The Kinks, the many bands of John Reis, and Against Me!

Movies:

Movies that involve Terry Gilliam, Charlie Kaufman, Jean Pierre Jeunet, David Cronenberg, Wes Anderson, Hayao Miyazaki, and Danny Boyle. I also like most well made horror, comedy, drama, documentaries, etc. Pretty much just an overall fan of quality or the distinct lack there-of ex. Night of The Creeps, Spider Baby, Troma.I've been on a real horror kick for a while. The most recent DVD's I bought are: The Descent, Slither, Planet Terror, Cemetery Man, The Omen, An American Werewolf in London, a Roger Corman collection, Dog Soldiers and Re-Animator.I made one with some friends. I disavow their taste in opening credits, but if you feel like watching, do so:

Television:

Lost, The Office, Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies, 30 Rock, Dexter, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Kids in the Hall. Alton Brown on food network when I can catch him.

Books:

Comics by: Lewis Trondheim, Rick Veitch, Warren Ellis, Dan Clowes, GARTH ENNIS, Paul Pope, Brian K. Vaughan, Grant Morrison, Jeff Smith, Joan Sfar, Matt Fraction, Chester Brown, Bill Watterson, Paul Hornschemeier, Seth Fisher, and Josh Kotter. Also, The Walking Dead is probably one of my favorite comics of all time and I just so have the pleasure for it not to be over yet. Prose by: John Fante, Vonnegut, Brett Easton Ellis, Roddy Doyle, Irvine Welsh, Michael Chabon, Arthur C. Clark, Charles Bukowski, Douglas Adams, Phillip K. Dick, Orson Scott Card, Hunter S. Thompson, and Clive Barker. I also like The Zombie Survival Guide / World War Z.

Heroes:

Brendan Behan was more clever drunk off his ass than most people, sober as the daylight, ever will be."Critics are like eunuchs in a harem; they know how it's done, they've seen it done every day, but they're unable to do it themselves." -Brendan BehanProfile edited with CricketSoda's Myspace Editor
