About Me

Layout Created at Mspremade.com Layout Created at Mspremade.com..Growing up a shell’s toss from Cocoa Beach, I loved the TV series, “I Dream of Jeannie” as a child. Little did I know that I was receiving a daily dose of Sidney Sheldon’s work. In third grade Judy Blume sparked my interest with the book Superfudge. I quickly became a fan. Her insightful books entertained me and were in the back of my mind during my preteen years.
I traveled to England at the age of thirteen with my mother and a group from school. On that trip I must have visited every record shop in London and Southern England. What left a deeper impact on me were two churches. The first was Canterbury Cathedral, where I stood at the shrine of St. Thomas a Beckett. Unbeknownst to me the premise of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales were sojourners visiting that very shrine in hope of a miracle. A few days later I found myself at the grave of William Shakespeare. The words inscribed on his headstone wished a blessing upon those who didn’t disturb his grave. Those two places left a resounding impression on me. Shortly after returning home I wrote my first short story.
Over the next few years I explored various techniques and genres. By the age of seventeen I knew in my heart that I was an author. At eighteen I came to a crossroad. The life of a starving artist was very unappealing to me. I made the decision to be bi-vocational and received a degree in Computer Information Systems. As an artistic outlet I wrote for a few underground Science Fiction publications. My ultra-ego Willow Wind was the star of many tales.
Upon leaving the fantastic world of college, I entered the grim reality of working in social services… For five years I witnessed the aftermath of child abuse and neglect on a daily basis. That experience forever changed my writing. Dickens’ opium addicts and Shakespeare’s fratricidal villains received faces. I penned my first novel, Chase as a result.I wasn’t quite finished with the first book when I knew there would be more. Angel of Hope… A Continuing Chase, the climax of the trilogy was completed six months after Chase. (The Son… A Final Chase, the denouement of the trilogy, has been a work in progress for quite awhile.)
I prefer writing fiction over non-fiction, simply for the creative liberties versus the dull realities. My genre is Psychological Romance as defined by Nathaniel Hawthorne. When I’m not writing, I’m experiencing life and searching for new tales to tell…

Why I Hate Peacocks
