My true name is Mauricio Barria. I was born on june the 11 of 1979 in the southern city of Puerto Natales, Chile.
Being 12 years of age I listened to a metal band for the first time. It was METALLICA with their album "And Justice For All", after that I started listening to other bands such as Iron Maiden , Rata Blanca , Slayer , Guns N' Roses , Kiss and Twisted Sister . Then what I only wanted to do was to learn how to play the guitar, so I asked a friend of mine to teach me. It was very difficult, but with a big effort I finally could, in fact I'm still leanrning.
Now, I would like to tell thee more about my beautifull Terra Australis. Puerto natales is located in the paralell 51º43'39", and it is near Torres del Paine National Park. This park covers 242.242 hectares on the Seno de Ultima Esperanza (Last Hope Inlet). The park is located 146 kilometers far from Puerto Natales.
There are many hiking paths that cross widely different types of terrain, such as pampas(steppes) and thick Magellanic forests, and run along lakes with huge glaciers and icebergs. The park is surrounded by huge, craggy mountains, including the famous Cuernos del Paine (Paine Horns).Hikes, camping, mountain climbing, fishing and horseback riding excursions can be done.
I lived my whole life in those southern landscapes. When I graduated from High School I decided to enter the University , where I study to become an Elementary teacher. Temuco is located 2424 kms far from my Land. Life here is very different, though there are more concerts than in my hometown.
The things that I enjoy doing: reading(Lovecraft, Tolkien, S. King, etc.), listening to music of course, playing the guitar, walking in the forests, drinking beer, barbecues("parrilladas" or "asados" in Spanish) with family and friends surfing on the Net and improving this Myspace.
