Back in the day I used to play a lot of cello, and I decided to go to a college with a good music school so I could do cello-related activities. At school a good friend of mine was all 'yo, we should jam...I'll just play this blues riff and you play whatever you feel like...this is called a pentatonic scale....(etc.)' and I haven't gone back to playing classical music since! A couple years later I started writing songs like crazy for guitar and/or cello... Now I've just arrived in Pittsburgh as school is starting up, and I'm psyched to make my way into the local music scene. Over the summer I started playing around with recording and developed an EP, if you will, out of it. Recently I've upgraded my equipment and my ideas for recording and I am beginning the process of putting together an album.
Before playing with just Nate (we were a two-piece I liked to call 'Nate and Will'), we had a band called Loosely Affiliated that involved jamming on grassy quads and inside the school library - it was awesome. I've written a bunch of new stuff over the summer, and I'm looking forward to getting it out there at Pitt with new recordings and new venues. Sweet.
