About Me

C-Busy is a native of St. Louis Missouri, born and raised in a multi-talented family accompanied by nine other siblings. This home was always full of gospel music being born into a Christian family, but spending many of nights with his aunts, grandmothers, and uncles exposed him to other styles of music such as Earth, Wind, and Fire, Parliment, Luther Vandross, Curtis Blow, The Jackson 5, The O Jays, The Temptations, Rolling Stones, The Doors, and almost any artist you can name from the 60’s-80’s. Cory James "C-Busy" discoverd the ability of hearing musical harmonies between the ages of 6-8. He attended the Eureka County School District where he begin to play the viola.Procceding on to middle school, he started to get a feel for other instruments such as the cornet and trombone. While in the sixth grade, he would go over to his uncles house (Steve Perkins) and see all of the studio gear that he had and gained interest of how to make... "Produce music". lol He, his brother, and his cousin begin to form their own rap group "Fam". Being influenced by different hip hop artist such as NWA, MC Eight, 8 Ball & MJG, Digital Underground, KRS 1, and many other rappers. C-Busy produce his first track at eleven years old, which the rap group Fam wrote their first rap, "A Dime A Dozen". Steve Perkins brought them into his studio and recorded their fist song... Cakewalk days! His eyes were opened into to the world of recording and making beats. Cory picked up the bass guitar in the nineth grade attending Central VPA under the direction of Thomas E. Moore (Guitarist).Three months of playing the bass, he joined the jazz band. Being in the jazz band caused Cory to develope a concept of live instrumentation, score writng, playing piano, music theory, studio recording, and much more. Thomas Moore didn’t limit his students to just playing an instrument, but how to approach music period. During the highschool years, playing jazz was great, but not all of the way satifying to Cory. He always had that desire to continue in what he started when he was eleven, "producing music". Watching the Grammy Awards, Stellar Awards, and music shows and videos would cause dreams of one day becoming a SUPER PRODUCER.We feel that time is now approaching him and his craft which has been sharpened over the years. Studying the music industry and the life of RECORDING. Cory James is the CEO of one the fastest growing entertainment companies, "Heir Time Entertainment L.L.C." in St. Louis Mo. which will soon be National then International.
