---------------------------------- To My Fellow 'Dawgs,
Recently, as some of you may know, my health has deteriorated, so much so that unfortunately, I've been forced to retire as the mascot for Louisiana Tech University. For the past few years it has been both a privilege and an honor to represent you, the fans of the great Louisiana Tech. Know that I will also be there with you in spirit, and this is one dog that will forget all the people that have made my life great. From all of the pictures, pats on the head, and rubs on the belly, you’ve really made my life a good one. Don’t worry about me, because I’m sure retirement will treat me well, especially if there is a milk bone thrown my way every now and then. And not to worry, at this very moment I’m searching diligently for a replacement, and hopefully one that can live up to your high standards. Make sure to welcome Tech XX with loving, open arms. Finally, I say farewell, and GO DAWGS! -TECH XIX
Retired Louisiana Mascot
---------------------------------- The Bulldog has been the proud mascot of Louisiana Tech since the fall of 1899 when a stray bulldog heroicly saved the lives of 5 students. While the boys were asleep their house caught fire, and the occupants were totally unaware. The tenacious canine went room to room barking, alarming the 5 boys of the fire. The five boys made it out alive, but the bulldog gave his life so that they would be warned about pending danger. The next year the Bulldog became the official mascot of the university, and ever since, a English Bulldog has stood watch over all the students at Lousiaiana Tech, and has represented their proud school.
