One DAY - by aneel ahmad
One day she will come,
And together we shall be forevermore!
One day the beauty of the heavens will dance between us
And even if that one day shall be within the silent prayer of God
Then I will wait for that one day,
And once agian we will be together within spiritual affinity... One Day.

I LOVE FILMS. I am a very big STANLEY KUBRICK Fan.
2001 Theatrical Trailer
Add to My Profile
Stanley Kubrick stated that when you make films, you should always try make a miniature film (of two or three minutes) and figure out the mechanics. Later on the process is always the same. So if you're working on Titanic, and you've got, god knows, about 10,000 people on your set and then you've got a film that you're making with 50 people, the principals are still the same)
I love many film & Television Directors - Sir David Lean, Ken Loach, Sir Ridley Scott, Mike Leigh, George.A.Romero, Guy Ritchie, Satyajit Ray, Peter Watkins (Doc Film-maker),
Stephen Spielberg, David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino, Mike Figgis,
David Cronenberg, Federico Fellini,
Terrence Malick, Anthony Minghella, Madhusudan Rao V, Martin Scorsese,
Spike Lee, Mira Nair, Ram Gopal Varma, Orson Welles,
SATYAJIT RAY
James Ivory, Robert Rodriguez, Sergio Leone, Akura Kurosawa,
Guru Dutt, Michael Winterbottom, Christopher Nolan, Mani Ratnam,
Michael Mann, Steven Soderbergh, Sir Alan Parker, David Fincher
-Loads more directors these are just a few from the top of my head:)
Battaglia di Algeri, La (1966) Dir Gillo Pontecorvo. The Battle of Algiers" is simply one of the greatest films every made. If film making can be about truth as well as fantasy, then this is the Movie for you! It combines brilliant photography, crisp direction, an intriguing plot and some very fine acting. Throw in a terrific music score, splendid editing, impressive special effects and the best example ever of docudrama style production and you have a masterpiece of film making.
Three O'Clock High (1987 dir by Phil Joanou)This has got to be one of the best kept comedy secrets of the 80's. If you can get your hands on this movie watch it lol:) I love this movie....A high school nerd, Jerry Mitchell (Siemaszko) is assigned to write a piece for the school paper about new boy Buddy Revell (Tyson), who is rumored to be a psychopathic nutcase. When Jerry accidentally touches Buddy, he says that they must fight in the parking lot at 3pm. Jerry will just about do anything to avoid the confrontation.
MAGIC 1978 Dir Sir Richard Attenborough Wow Magic is one of those creepy psychologial Horrors.Anthony Hopkins plays Corky, an earnest but failed magician who spices up his act with a ventriloquist dummy called Fats, after which he rises to almost fame. However, Fats has developed a mind of his own and wants to control his master.
As a filmmaker one of the Artists that i am visually influenced by is the great Salvador Dali (1904 1989) The Persistence of Memory (1931) is one of Dali's most famous paintings. There is something special about this Artist! www.salvadordalimuseum.org

The homeowner unwisely accepts the delivery, only to discover it contains a TV set that starts spewing giggling zombies all over the place. When a new family moves into the now-abandoned house, the son discovers the haunted television and is soon told what he needs to do to send the zombies back where they belong.

Even though i dont really watch a lot of Bollywood movie's. This is one of my favourite Bollywood songs "MAN KI LAGAN" from the film PAAP 2003 - Dir Pooja Bhatt. Performed by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Play this it's a beautiful track
Muqaddar Ka Sikandar Hindi 1978 (dir Prakash Mehra) I used to watch some Bollywood movies when i was a child with my Parents! Oh Sati Rai - is a fantastic song by the GREAT Kishore Kumar! Orphaned and abused at a very young age, a young boy faces the harsh side of life as he struggles to make a living by slaving day and night. He gets empathy from a little girl, Kaamna, in whose house he works. Her dad, Ramnath, does not like him, and asks him to leave. He is adopted by a Muslim woman, Fatima, who decides to name him Sikander. Shortly thereafter, Fatima dies, leaving young Sikander with the responsibility of looking after her daughter, Mehroo.

Arrrhh man i love this movie.....lol:) Dalton's (Patrick Swayze)The best bouncer in the business. His nights are filled with fast action, hot music and beautiful women. It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it.
THE EARLY BIRD (Dir Robert Asher 1965) I remember watching Norman Wisdom Films when i was a child in the 80's. The Early Bird is one i love! When a minor official defeats Qin's three principal enemies, he is summoned to the palace to tell Qin the story of his surprising victory.
As it flies, it trails a coloured cloth that carries the film's numerous morals and messages which descend upon you like a soft layer of fabric. This is a film that can lift your spirits and have you laughing out in sheer joy as you gaze in wonder at the perfection of the mise-en-scene and cinematography. This is a Fantastic Film.

Peter Watkins (born October 29, 1935)
Is an English film and (once) television director. After studying acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, began his television and film career as an assistant producer of short TV films and commercials, and in the early 1960s was an assistant editor and director of ..aries at the BBC and turned to amateur filmmaking in the late 1950s. In the mid-60s Watkins was commissioned by BBC-TV to make two feature-length docudramas incorporating a quasi-newsreel style and nonprofessional actors. The second of these, The War Game (1965), graphically portrayed the nightmare of nuclear war and was banned from broadcast. It was subsequently released in theatres and earned a best ..ary Oscar in 1966. Watkins enjoyed modest success with the commercial feature film, Privilege (1967), but has subsequently worked primarily in the ..ary genre, based in various Scandanavian countries. One of his more recent films, _Resan (1988)_ , is a 873 minute (14 hours) epic that addresses such issues as the arms race and global hunger. All of his films have either been ..ary or drama presented with ..ary techniques, sometimes portraying historical occurrences and sometimes possible near future events as if contemporary reporters and filmmakers were there to interview the participants. The War Game is filmed in a ..ary fashion and looks at the possible effects of nuclear war on the English countryside. The film is notable for its intense power and imagery. It was later nominated for an Academy Award, as well as awarded the 1967 Best ..ary Feature award in Great Britain.
Protect and Survive was the title of a series of booklets and a public information film series produced by the British government during the late 1970s and early 1980s dealing with emergency planning for a nuclear war. The phrase also referred to a wider programme of national civil defence.
The purpose of the programme was to provide members of the British public with instructions on how to protect themselves and survive a nuclear attack. If such an attack had been deemed likely by the Government during any period of international crisis, a copy of the main "Protect and Survive" booklet would have been distributed to every home in the UK whilst the films would have been transmitted on domestic television. The booklet and the films detailed a series of steps to be undertaken by the citizens of the UK to improve their chances of survival during a nuclear attack, including the recognition of attack warning, fallout warning, and all-clear signals, the preparation of a home "fallout room" (fallout shelter) and the stockpiling of food, water, and other emergency supplies. The films, narrated by the late actor Patrick Allen, were similar to the pamphlets, detailing the same instructions using voice-over narration, sound effects, and simple animation. All of the "Protect and Survive" public information films were produced by Richard Taylor Cartoons, which also created the well-known "Charley Says" films for the UK's Central Office of Information.

SALAAM BOMBAY 1988
Dir - Mira Nair
This is one the best and moving films ive seen. Its a the story of a 12-year-old street boy surviving and etching out an existence on the squalled streets of Bombay. The interactions these kids have with each other made me feel I was watching a doco. The kids in India are so much like Chipau and the others depicted in Salaam Bombay its amazing. They all have there individual lives and dreams like us all but are burdened with extreame poverty

(Below) Requiem for a Dream (2000)Dir - Darren Aronofsky
Wow this is one of the most surreal and yet genuine films made this decade.
The film depicts the lives of four different people living in Brooklyn on their quest for satisfaction in life. It shows the direct and indirect effects that drugs and various addictions have on each of the individuals, and then portrays their downward spirals from the hopes of blossoming dreams into the helpless state of moral and physical decay. A very powerful and visual film not for the faint hearted.
(Below) Leaving Las Vegas 1995 - Dir Mike Figgis

We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact.(TYLER DURDEN FIGHT CLUB 1999) THREADS Mick Jackson, BBC TV, 1984 In the early 1980s the British government was still printing booklets outlining how to behave in the event of a nuclear strike, and paranoia raged about the possibility of such attacks. Unsurprisingly, the vivid images presented by this docu-drama's depiction of a nuclear onslaught generated arguments and anxiety. Threads swiftly became a national talking point, attracting praise and protest in equal measure. Tales Of The Unexpected is a British television series that originally aired between 1979 and 1988, made by Anglia Television for ITV. The series was an anthology of different tales, initially based on short stories by author Roald Dahl, that were sometimes sinister, sometimes wryly humourous and usually had a twist ending. Chocky was adapted for television in 1984 from the book by John Wyndham. From Thames Television. The series is the story of young Matthew Gore (Andrew Ellams), an intelligent boy from the Home Counties of England who is chosen by a mysterious extra-terrestrial visitor to Earth, Chocky, as a source of information about life on earth. Miami Vice 9/1984 - 5/1989 NBC 1 Hour Colour - 114 episodes Created by Anthony Yerkovich Executive Producer Michael Mann Universal Television. SCUM 1979 - This is the hard and shocking story of life in a British Borstal for young offenders. The film was originally made as a BBC play but it was banned before ever being shown. So 'Alan Clarke' and 'Roy Minton' got it re-made as a film. This is a tough and brutal film and should not be viewed lightly. Brush Strokes UK, BBC, Sitcom, Colour, 1986 Starring: Karl Howman, Gary Waldhorn, Elizabeth Counsell An Esmonde and Larbey sitcom set in south London and depicting the (mostly) amorous adventures of a good-looking, wisecracking house painter, Jacko. He was a sort of Alfie-type on the surface: a seemingly happy-go-lucky, uncomplicated womaniser, but part of Jacko's charm was his sincerity and tendency genuinely to fall for the women he pursued. )
