=====Get Your Own! | View SlideshowOverload is a 4 piece streetpunk/oi! band based in Cambridge.
The idea of Overload first came up in the spring of 2003, with Teo, Jana and Lee on vocals, bass and guitar respectively. our first song, Streetcorner-Militia, inspired by a sinister Army & Navy shop on our streetcorner. The first demo was recorded in Lee's bedroom on Mill Road in March 2004, with the songs: Bent Copper, CCTV, Streetcorner Militia and Town With No Name. The lyrics deal with issues that affect the working class as a whole, without spouting the slogans of any political sect. The demo was released in approximately 350 copies, and is no longer available to buy because we dont think that it is a true representation of what the band sounds like anymore; for a start, theres no drummer on the album, all the drum tracks were recorded by Teo on a drum machine!
Jaime had joined on the drums by Winter 2003. After rehearsing for a bit and writing some more songs we were ready for gigs by the summer of 2004. The first gig was on 3rd June with THE TENDONS at the Man on the Moon. Since then weve played with: THE BUSINESS, UK SUBS, 999, RED FLAG 77, DEADLINE, RETALIATOR, BOTTLEJOB, THE OBSESSED, SPECIAL DUTIES and others.new songs, same anger.
