About Me

These are some of the new projects that the members of Beyond Years are now participating in:
Adam is now the vocalist for The Venting Machine, who have been great friends of ours over the years. They've always been an awesome band, and having Adam in their ranks now is a great union for metal music. Be sure to check them out.
Aeons Collapse is Greg's new metal project. Really heavy stuff. Currently all instrumental.
Eat The Crow is Ryan's new band he formed in L.A. A lot of the material is stuff that he wrote for Self Sacrifice Project, that has been adapted for playing live.
Jon is now playing bass for Endrone out of Hollywood, CA. They're picking up a lot of momentum, so be sure to be on the lookout for them.
Self Sacrifice Project is Ryan's solo project he's had for quite a while now, and his material keeps getting better and better, and definitely worth checking out.
Uladyne is Greg's experimental side project. The only rule is that there are no rules. Very different from Sickle or Beyond Years.
Unother is Caleb's band he's been with for years. Sickle has played multiple shows with them, and they are easily one of the best bands to ever come out of california.
Beyond Years Bio:
Forget about brutality. Forget about the scene. Forget about how heavy your breakdowns are and how tough you look, because in the end all you have is your music and what it does to people. In the age of cookie cutter metal bands intent on destroying an art form, music seems to have become second stage to how “anti” you are or how good you look on stage. In recent years it seems the current trend in heavy music has been to ditch any artistic elements in your music and focus instead on technical ability and visual appearance. Beyond Years was founded in response to this trend, as an act of defiance.Despite being a relatively new band, Beyond Years is not without a history. The band is basically the core of its former incarnation, the Central California act Sickle, which gained substantial underground popularity with it’s self produced, independently released full length debut album in June of 2005. Throughout its six year history, Sickle was plagued with lineup changes and was left with only one original member by the beginning of 2006. With the fact that it was basically a different band with the same name and material that was moving in an entirely new direction, compiled with a strong abhoration of current music trends, the decision was made to start a new band with the core members of Sickle. The resulting sound is somewhat of a collection of all the elements that the members have held dear over the years, while basically expanding on what Sickle was in every direction. Citing mostly European influences, Beyond Years still retains an overall American quality without gravitating to the same “New Wave of American Metal” sound that seems to be so favorable among their colleagues in recent years. One of the most discernable elements of their music is the presence of melody, which has been expanded upon from the level that Sickle had maintained. At the same time, paying homage to some of their death metal roots, the members have expanded upon the heavier elements as well, expanding the overall sonic palette far beyond what Sickle delivered.Beyond Years maintains an ethic of making music solely for themselves, ignoring the tides of music trends and fashions while striving to uphold the notion that music is an art form, not an accessory to a certain lifestyle.
