About Me

Rodesia Eaves- “A true singing star” A native of Los Angeles, California and living a virtually hard and stressful life, Rodesia Eaves turned to music as an outlet. Rodesia can recall her mother and father style of having a social gathering with friends and family by playing their favorite albums on the record player. Before she could even walk, she was able to sing and pick out her favorite songs she wanted her dad to play. Rodesia credits her diversity and solid foundation from years of exposure to various genres of music ranging from classical greats such as Beethoven, Bach, to Ella Fitzgerald, Jimmy Hendrix, and Coco from SWV, Donny Hathway are just a few of the greats she grew up admiring. Rodesia has also suffered a hard life starting at the age of 6. She loved and admired her mother and father but was well aware of their drug abuse even as a child. After being subjected to being thrown out of houses to literally living on the streets of LA, things finally took a turn for the worse. Rodesia woke up to find her mother dead from and over dose of drugs at the age of 6. After that things began to get worse her dad did not seek help in time and her and her sister were eventually taken from her and placed in a foster home. Her dad got better years later after they moved to Columbia, South Carolina and she continued her relationship with him. Unfortunately on New Years Eve of 2001, her father passed away of prostate cancer and Emphysema and Alzheimer’s at the age of 55. But that didn’t stop Rodesia from continuing on, her father was always her biggest support. She knew that she wanted to be able to make him proud so has pressed on in his memory. After High school, Rodesia decided to take her love of music to new heights. She realized that her vision of becoming a singer must start with songwriting. She began writing to perfect her skill and to learn how to make a hit song. With the hard balls that life had thrown her it wasn’t hard for her to really pour out her emotions in regards to relationships and life struggles. Rodesia also began performing locally around town to help build her stage presence and get comfortable. Although she had done some modeling in New York with a few major designers, and a major 45 city runway tour with Vogue of Chicago she knew her passion was in singing. After seeing a commercial for an audition for American Idol, she went to Atlanta and tried out. Simon loved her all the way from the beginning until she had to sing “Daydream Believer” By the Monkees on T.V which did nothing for her vocally. She made it to the top 24 out of thirty million people that auditioned which speaks loud and clear as to how much talent she really has. She is also trained in Ballet and Jazz, as well as Hip Hop. Since her time on American Idol she has continued to write and record music in pursuit to her dream as a “True singing star, as dubbed by friends and her fans that have supported her since the show aired. Rodesia is currently working on her album and trying to get her foot into the door. She is poised to continue to bring an innovative flair not only in today’s hip hop and R&B culture, but to the world. “A true singing star”……. Layout Provided By FreeCodeSource.com - Myspace Layouts

Tell me about me???

Why do others try to argue with you and tell you something about yourself that you know for a fact, and they think they know, but really don't? Has anyone ever experienced this?
