Who Are The Heavy Hittaz?
The Heavy Hittaz are one hell of an approaching force to be reckoned with in the underground circuit. Having successfully released over two dozen solo records combined, each memeber brings forth a unique style and approach, all necessary to complete the Double H formula.
Mcnastee ("Mack McGuire") : A veteran of the Oklahoma independent scene who has been featured on a slew of mixtapes via DJ 31 Degreez, McNastee has built a solid fan base easily in the thousands via solo releases and international touring. He has recorded with everyone from members of the Wu Tang Clan, all the way to the late great Big Proof of D12. He has worked in person with the world renowned producer Mike E. Clark (of Insane Clown Posse fame), and has rocked crowds across the globe alongside some of the greatest in the game, both major and underground. McNastee's latest release, "Pieces Of A Broken Man" is available now via his official website: www.McNastee.com , as well as at www.RedrumMedia.com
Menacide ("Sammy SoSick") : Menacide hails from the West Michigan rap hotbed of "Gun Rule" (Grand Rapids), and has independently released solid underground records for well over the past decade. His track record includes work with The Dayton Family, B Real Of Cypress Hill, King Gordy, Project Deadman, Proof Of D12, Sick Notes, Q Strange, and numerous more. The release of his 2005 "Drugz LP" held the number one selling spot at several media outlets, and includes two tracks featuring all three Heavy Hittaz. Menacide is currently wrapping up final touches on his upcoming record, "Street Symphony". www.Menacide.com
Dan Tha Saltine ("Shank Aaron"): DTS is the undisputable mic bully from Toledo, Ohio whose credits also include seval indepenent albums. He's played shows alongside Strange Music's Tech N9ne, and made his first Heavy Hittaz debut on 2004's "Spring Training Vol. 1" mixtape. He is currently smashing out production on his latest solo effort, "21 With A Gun", slated to be released in late 2006. www.DanThaSaltine.com
What Does 13% mean?
"Thirteen Percent" represents the small faction of independent artists who live, breathe, and die for the love of the music, and hold that moniker above all things business or money related in the game.......
"85% of the dudes quit/ 13% stay pursuin' the shit/ & 2% blow up, they get signed & make it/ The shame is, 99% of those are fakin'/ I'd rather stay in the 13 percent/ Never blow the fuck up or make a cent/ At least then I could say I was real/ Cause I kept on, and kept on pursuin' my deal" - Menacide on "Keep On" (Heavy Hittaz)
And real fans who live for the motive behind that slogan, understand fully, that great music, loyalty, and keeping it real with each other supercedes all material gain. Plain and simple, those in the rap industry for the pure love of the game, are the last of a dying breed... A small percentage in the overal picture...... A mere 13 Percent.
