Behind the Beat: Paper City Sons Arc City Angels shine a light on Holyoke.
Arc City Angels originated in Holyoke, MA back in 2006 as a kind of one day of talent show band that was set up by Dan and Jeremy. Eventually they set up a four piece band and they drafted a few other friends Terrance Yates (drums) and Ben Parsons (bass). The band you know of today as the Arc City Angels is a unique combination of Pop/Metal/R&B and extreme sex appeal fused together by Smooth Vocals, Intricately Orgasmic Guitar Riffs, Mind Blowing Bass Lines, and Drum Patterns that could (and have) Impregnate a Woman just by the sound of it.
Jeremy and Dan began playing together back in 2003 and quickly established a very close friendship in which eventually pretty much became what Dan would describe as “Brothaz from anotha mothaâ€. The story behind their friendship is rather accidental, Jeremy started off as a Rapper/R&B singer who had some piano playing experience while Dan had been playing music pretty much all his life. To make a long story short, Jeremy stumbled upon Dan playing guitar one day after school in which Jeremy proceeded to grab a keyboard and as they say, "jammed" to create something truly noticeable. Terrance who is a long time friend of Jeremy and Dan came along during the beginning stages of the band (before A.C.A was even thought of), back when we were known as “Rice Beans and Chocolate Milkâ€. Ben was introduced to the band by Jeremy who he met while working at Six Flags New England back in the summer of 2007. At the time they were in need of a skilled and reliable bassist, while Ben happened to be in need of a skilled and active band. Eventually Terrance enlisted into the Navy and the band turned to the only other person who we knew could get the job done, Brian Westbrook. Brian is the former drummer of "Face The Lie" and "Hydraulic Sandwich". We met him in early 2008 when we did some recording at the PDP Productions studio in Greenfield, MA and immediaely became good friends. From then on we kept in touch and when the time came, he came to help for good.
So there you have it! Here we are today ready to kick ass and take names. Doing whatever the hell we please to the best of our abilities, taking all four of our very diverse and individual styles and slamming them together into an Orgy of Musical Madness!!! No Boundaries, No Rules, Whatever and However we want to do it…..We are the Arc City Angels.
