'…I went to a 'Hard Working Boss' concert because I had to see the sexual chemistry between ‘the BOX’ and Jim ‘Youth Hostel’ Sheppard live. I wasn't disappointed - It was a bit like watching some sick David Cronenburg film where man and machine are united in some unholy sex act. I came away from the gig disgusted but also asking myself about the true nature of their relationship. Are they, aren’t they? Were they ever? Will they be soon? Will Youth Hostel ever 'jiz' over ‘the BOX’ in some obscene encore?
They clearly played on the controversial off-stage relationship but the music was pretty good too. Melodic pop/rock (Imagine Damon Oldbarn being given a reach around by Jarvis Cockup) with lyrics that you couldn't necessary play to you your mother, unless she was an atheist swinger with a pathological obsession with Elton John. I would definitely go again and pay lots of money to see them but unfortunately I am a very busy music journalist and don't have much time to see live music.'
