It's what you do with it that counts. (Your MySpace that is.)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People like you, people like me, and people who are maybe a little bit different from either of us... And maybe some of those dream girls in the Hotel Amizade - or is she all the same one? ;0)

Music:

Compulsory. (See dedicated 'friends' category.) BTW, the profile song is not me, but a very talented namesake. Some of the sampled and modified loops used on the aryblæn website will be posted at THIS LINKED MySpace in the coming week, hopefully downloadable and free to re-use.

Movies:

See the Deeside Aryblæn Film Festival website at www.deeside.tk for details of past presentations. My favourite films include 'Performance', plus all of Donald Cammell's and Nic Roeg's other work. Others that I easily remember and would watch again and again would include 'Abre Los Ojos' by Alejandro Amenábar, 'Cidade De Deus', 'Donny Darko' and 'Leon'.In general I like Luis Buñuel, Kurosawa, Coppola, Hitchcock, Ed Cline, Eisenstein, The Coens, Mack Sennett, David Lean, David Lynch, Werner Hertzog, Peter Mullen, John Ford, and far too many more to list. I'll add to this list from time to time as they come to mind.

Television:

The Simpsons, The Sopranos, Big Brother, Rownd A Rownd, The Football (Sgorio Cymru).

Books:

Art and Literature? - I have been greatly influenced and/or encouraged by: J.G. Ballard, Jorge Luis Borges, Luis Buñuel, William Burroughs, Marc Chagall, Brian Clough, M. C. Escher, W.C. Fields, Buddy Holly, Vasilii Kandinsky, Ivan Kliun, Federico Garcia Lorca, El Lissitzky, Kazimir Malevich, Haruki Murakami, Julie Myerson, David Nobbs, Kaite O'Reilly, Pablo Picasso, Alan Plater, Liubov Sergeevna Popova, Willhelm Reich, Erik Satie, Barry Simner, Vladimir Tatlin, Peter Taylor, Eckhard Tolle, Vincent Van Gogh, Nick Warburton and more, depending on my disposition. No 'kudos' please, and please also note that comments (good or bad!) on the blog itself may be deleted as I re-edit and re-order the entries.

Heroes:

Just for one day...

My Blog

Two Faced, Forearmed

Footnote: Some non-story related postings have been deleted so as to allow the whole rambling shibboleth to remain on a single web page. I intend to edit this resulting page down to a few condensed p...

Walking On Eggshells (Waxing Llwrical)

As I step from stone to stone towards the pillar, I notice a subtle and gradually increasing sponginess in the ground. The rocks are less than solid, with some movement in response to my footfall. The...

Last Orders

This is the part when I get nervous, the waiting before the off. Sitting in the bathroom in the safe house, somewhere near Bochum, the boss is outside calling for me. There is no proper lavatory here,...

Halloween Dreams

Part 1 - Filling Station I am swimming in a river, more like wading without touching the bottom with my feet but with my head, neck, arms and chest clear, treading warm brown water and moving downstr...

An Underground Passage

This one made three grey suits in all, my two tone silver grey stage suit, the light wool and cotton mix that I wore everyday and now this strange overall with its black jersey lining, tan suede under...

At The Turning Point

I can just make out the outline of a foot and a lower leg, upside down, at the top of the wall. From there I extrapolate the shape of a figure frozen in the arc of a grande plié or somersault, mid mot...

A Rhythm Of Life

The respirator's rise and fall plays a reassuring monotone, laying down the steady beat of a drum machine, an automatic rhythm. The beeping cardio-gramo-phone a regulated counterpoint that syncopates ...

Letting Go (chapter 2)

I look again but she has gone. "Did she get into that van?" I ask as the pale blue Mercedes Benz disappears round the curve of the tunnel. I say blue, but it might have been any pale colour, the ...

The waking nightmare

I found a CD with an old 'dream almanac' from 1999. I thought a lot of these were lost, as can happen when a hard drive dies. Also on the cd is my diary from Brazil in 1991! So I have a lot more resea...

Backstory (re-subbed Friday 15th, 3.30)

It's Behind You   Unwanted I am wanted for a suspected crime, although I am innocent and misunderstood the classic 'Fugitive' scenario. On the run, I am overtaken by events when trying to retu...
