Originating from Melbourne, Tom Allan got involved in the dance music scene from a young age. From massive warehouse parties to funky club nights, there was nothing he didn’t get into. This love of the scene was what prompted Tom to buy his first set of decks in 1997 and it didn’t take long before he was rocking it in Melbournes biggest dance parties such as Hardware Universe (97/98/99) and the Transatlantic parties which featured International acts such as Patrick Lyndsey, Humate, Terry Mullen, Derrick Carter and more.
After making a base in London, Tom rapidly established himself as one of the leading new DJs to hit the scene and within a short period of time he has built an solid reputation for his chunky, driving, house sets that have proven to rock any dancefloor in the UK and abroad.
Tom has had a great couple of years with regular gigs and most of London’s top venues including Pacha, The Cross, The Fridge, Ministry of Sound, The Egg, Studio33, The White House, Rhythm Factory and many more. In this short time he has featured on the billing alongside such dance music icons as Carl Cox, Jon Carter, Axwell, Richard Dinsdale, Soul Avengerz, Michael Gray, Tom Neville, King Roc, Matt Williams, Paul Harris, Jon Ulysses, Brandon Block, Chocolate Puma to name just a few.
January 2005 also saw the start of Tom’s International gig listings with a headline stint alongside another DirtyGroove resident Dave Joyce at one of Turkey’s premier clubs. He didn’t stop there though and in May, Tom was again headlining, this time for House of Tao at Shanghai’s newest club, VIP ROOM. Playing to a packed venue of over 700 people, Tom blew the place away and it was this that helped secure a return trip the following year.
In June, Tom headed to Ibiza with Heat UK & Sundazed on a whirlwind tour, playing for We Love… Sundays @ SPACE, Minted @ Eden Rooms, Sundazed @ Kanya, Pukka Up Boat Party and Savannah all within the space of a week!
Now in 2006 and the International work has continued with regular gigs in China, Marbella, Ibiza, and Russia, with further expansion on the horizon.
This ever increasing schedule of main room gigs in major clubs both in London and Internationally has firmly established Tom as a leading DJ locally and abroad and with residencies at two of Londons top nights Dirty @ Pacha, and Positiva Calling @ The Cross, as well as co-promoting underground club night DirtyGroove, this is unlikely to change soon...
