About Me

Hello one and all,
I'm Jim. I live in Stockport, South Manchester. I love my music, films, food and drink. Right now i'm a huge fan of Orange Lucozade. I've always had a thing for film scores and TV music. I like it very much. I get incredibly geeky about film things, much to the annoyance of all around me.

I play guitar and bass. I like to think I can play drums.

I have a degree in Music, which means I am very grown up. I am the bassist for the band Multi Purpose Chemical. We are very nice. Our album (...And Four More Ways To Fight) will be out in October, It looks like this....

But you can also buy our first EP now. ('Cult E.P.' Get it from HMV or something.) It looks like this.....

If you want to be my friend, that's all good. But if you're a band I don't know....just add MPC instead. Lovely stuff.

You might also enjoy...

My Interests

Music, Guitars, Films, Food, Television, Drink, Pubs.

I'd like to meet:

Danny Wallace, Jack Nicholson, Tom Morello, Bill Shatner, Keira Knightly, (I was stood right next to her once, and she looked at me) Tony Blair, and all sorts of nice people.

Music:

Anything that gets me thinking "ooooh...I like that!" I love filthy heavy dirty stinking guitar riffs with chunky drums and whomping bass, but i also love little delicate acoustic strums, and the odd orchestral moment. If you wanted to make me happy you could sing/hum to me songs by any of the following groups/people: Reuben, Skindred, Sikth, Josh Rouse, Ben Folds (with or without the five) Stephen Fretwell, Jimi Hendrix, Poison The Well, Soulfly, Rage Against The Machine, Danny Elfman, Johnny Williams, actually, pretty much anything. I'll probably like it. EXCEPT!.....there are far too many bands around at the moment trying to sound like old bands. STOP IT!! If you want cool, vintage stuff, listen to early Fleetwood Mac, maybe try some Fairport Convention, Focus, Jethro Tull, Blodwyn Pig etc. Stop giving The Kings of Bloody Leon and the sodding strokes all your cash.

Movies:

Alien, Back To The Future, Superman, The Sting, The Godfather, Batman, Ghostbusters, Clerks, Chasing Amy, Star Wars, Once Upon A Time In America, Day Of The Jackal, Airplane, Spider-Man 2, and Juggernaut. Plus many others.

Television:

Neighbours, Simpsons, Family Guy, 24, Lost, Heroes, Doctor Who, Big Train, Spaced, Vic & Bob, Catterick, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, and all the crap i watch but don't really pay attention to. Also any of the programmes which involve the actor Kevin Eldon, Mark Heap and Simon Pegg. I think between the three of them, they're pretty much invloved in most of my favourite comedy shows of the last ten years.

Books:

Anything by Danny Wallace and or Dave Gorman, The Harry Potter books, some Steve Martin stuff is great, that one about the dead dog and the autistic kid, Timoleon Vieta come home, The Godfather, Powder. Right now i'm on the Michael Palin "Python Years" diaries, and also a geeky book about Danny Elfman.
