DJ O.J.

DJ O.J. represents South Kak to the fullest. Hailing from Hilton Head, SC, he also claims Bluffton, SC. He came up in the streets of Hilton Head with a group of inspiring young men known as the Gumtree Clique (Marlon, Bubby, Cardre, Pear{RIP}, Roach, Jarome, Jamie, Kenard, Onnie, Soup, etc.). At a young age O.J. became involved in hip-hop being inspired by older cousins Calvin, Rameik, & Frukwan. He started doing parties around the way with friend & fellow dj, DJ 40 Bounce. O.J. would later attend S.C. State University, where he met a group of men that had the same passion, for hip-hop as him. Together they linked up & started making mix-tapes & music together. O.J. then left S.C. State to attend Savannah State Uni. in order to create a larger fan base for his aspirations. Becoming bored with school, realizing that he was going for other people & not himself, O.J. relocated to Atlanta with mentor & cousin Eric aka Psycho. There he indulged himself into Atlanta's music scene. While still keeping in touch with his college friends from NY (M.P.C.) they set out on a mission to conquer hip-hop together, O.J. in the south & M.P.C. up north. While M.P.C. flood the streets of NY with cds using their brash marketing & promotional skills, O.J. is hitting the streets with his classic mix-cds which can be found in a hood near you. With plans of connecting with club promoters, O.J. plans to travel the US as well other countries around the world, bringing his style of djing to their clubs. So to all of you club promoters, stateside & worldwide, holla at him now.Becoming frustrated with trying to get a record deal, O.J. started his own record label / multi-media company, G.A.B.E.. The label is run off of honesty and is an outlet for inspiring artists to receive help with promotions via mix-cds for a reasonable price. G.A.B.E. consists of DJ O.J.
