Born into a musical family, Chris Beck, a native of Philadelphia has been exposed to an assortment of music genres. At a young age he acknowledged his strong desire for music and accepted his responsibility to continue in the music legacy of his father's the late Elder Charles Beck and legendary gospel producer Tony Beck.
At the age of seven he began to receive classical drum instruction. He was later influenced by his high school band director to continue in jazz drumming. Mr. Beck then pursued a career in music, where at Temple University he earned a B.A. in Music Education/ Jazz performance. While at Temple he developed a friendship with his mentor Mr. Terell Stafford. Under Stafford's instruction, he began to transcribe and increased his listening of the master jazz drummers.
He currently works with various artists such as, Tim Warfield, Terell Stafford, Orrin Evans, Duane Eubanks, Philadelphia legend Bootsie Barnes and Latin jazz pianist Elio Villafranca and a host of other musicians from both Philadelphia and New York.
