About Me
Ron and Todd met in the hallways at Newfield High School during thier sophmore year in 1982. They shared the same taste in music and decided to start a band that would blend the sounds of Al Green, Manowar, Beethoven, Bette Midler, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith and The Carpenters all together. They called the project IRON DUNGEON. They refuse to use a drummer because "Beethoven didn't have a drummer," claims Ron Dungeon. Rumor has it that IRON DUNGEON have over 3,417 songs, yet only five have surfaced. "86 Mets( Place Your Bets!), "Frankenberry Selden Slaughter," You're So Mint," and "Red White and Blue" are four of the songs on thier only EP titled "MINTED OUT!" Even though this EP has technically been released by Blue Handball Records, only a handball, oops, I mean handfull of copies exist. Its said that only true DUNGEON fans are seeked out by Ron and Todd, then told where to go to recieve a copy. In order to get a copy of "MINTED OUT!" fans would have to solve a riddle, pass a physical fitness exam. then to go to odd places like the cereal section in King Kullen, The womens bathroom at St. Margarets church, and yes, the handball court at Newfield High School in order to find a clu for the next step. Usually the fan would have to write three haikus about one haiku, then, and only then, would they recieve the EP.Some say that IRON DUNGEON are solely responsible for the economic boom thier hometown Selden witnessed in 1986. After the Mets won the World Series that year DUNGEON were supposed to play thier first show ever at the Centereach Civic Arena. To prepare for this monumental show town officials planned to build Nicolls road so the town could handle all the traffic coming in from surrouding towns. In anticipation for a slew of tourists, Businesses like The Good Tune Saloon (now The Hairy Lemon,) 7-11, and Francesco's Pizzeria had to hire many of the towns unemployed citizens; ultimately raising Selden from thier debt to Centereach and Coram.IRON DUNGEON never did play that show, saddening Seldenites for years. Fans started spreading rumors that they died, or that Ronn gave up the DUNGEON to concentrate on his pottery, or that Todd wanted to concentrate on fixing his 78 Camaro. Nobody will ever know why the DUNGEON never played that show, but we do know they will be playing in July(check the show page). Ronn and Todd have contacted me to let the people know that the DUNGEON are back!
