About Me

Intelligent people seek individuals like me for friends, while the dimwitted and masochistic choose to make people like me their enemies.
I have big hair that I use to disguise my massive head that contains my larger than imaginable ego. Beans and mayonnaise freak me out. Mushrooms make me feel like I have the scurvy.
I berate people who message me about my photos and nothing else. Consider yourself forewarned.
"I happen to feel that the degree of a person's intelligence is directly reflected by the number of conflicting attitudes she can bring to bear on the same topic."
Lisa Alther
I love like a MARTYR.
tragic and improper
broken, yet determined

An Oklahoman by birth. A gypsy and pirate by heart. And a DETROITER by CHOICE.
I teach myself. I read. I watch. I try. Diverse of Mind. I’m mellow, high-spirited, and appreciative. Down-to-earth, logical, and realistic... but still a dreamer. Never the starved and tortured artist. Incredibly easy to amuse.Loyal, Stubborn, and Independent.
A Constant Devil's Advocate. MUTABLE. Flexible.

Tolerant, but not anyone's doormat. I never hold grudges; they burn the soul like acid.
a writer gaining focus
a student..............a teacher/ a joker.............. a thinker
an artist............. a professional/ a storyteller............ a quiet muser
a dreamer.......... a realist/ a seducer............ a lover
a builder...........a breaker/ a giver......... a taker
a protector................. a killer
THE SLY, LITTLE INSTIGATORA train of thought jumping the tracks. And just as random, halting, mellow, and wry as I am on paper.
Number one, I’m a WRITER.
With that said, I am not your editor. If you want to talk about writing, reading, etc. COOL. I LOVE that. I do not love being sent emails full of whatever the hell you write. I write full-time and am working on my first novel and help run a writing group in my spare time (not to mention my MANY other hobbies). I'm not a shallow back-patter, so more likely than not, you're not going to like what I have to say about your writing anyhow.Lover of the intellectual and thoughtful and dorky and aesthetic. Especially my math nerd. I lover him greatly. :)
Disdainful of thoughtless youth (and age), artificial highs, abject stupidity...
stifling rules meant to keep everything safe and pretty and proper ...
shallow/meaningless/too-frequent compliments...
Quiet for days with whirring mind
a friend to those willing to accept the responsibility
unpredictable, enigmatic, eccentric
introspective, social, soft and hard-edged... Quiet and cautious while loquacious and daring.............
Loyal to a fault I don't believe in vegetarianism, veganism, kick-me dogs or organized religion. If you do, that's your thing. Just realize I eat meat, I love my sheepskin rug, I like dogs bigger than rats, and I have no use for church. If that's kosher, then we're kosher.

I'd like to meet:

“Get not your friends by bare compliments, but by giving them sensible tokens of your love."
Socrates On a quest for Quality friends, not a mass Quantity of friends. People with whom I share views, laughter, and interests. People I've known, people I've studied with, people I've met in previous lives. NOTE: Though I am currently single, I have NO interest in dating. Not now. Not ever. I'm thoroughly in love and thoroughly broken. And yes, I DO have single, dateable friends who are as smart, witty, pretty and talented as I am. ;)

Music:

Anything that feels good.
Gangsta rap rarely RARELY fits in this category.
Neither does teeny bop pop.
Or jungle techno trancy stuff.
Or really heavy loud banging on walls and screeching.
I grew up dancing to the rhythm and listening for the drums. I dig watching musicians play. I like what I like. Anything that makes me bob my head, tap my feet, shake my hips, laugh, smile, and mellow out in that good way.
Anything that feels good. My Launchcast Station is a bit out-of-date, but will give you a bit of an idea of my tastes... Now if you could get ahold of my ipod, you might REALLY learn something.

Movies:

The Princess Bride, good S. King flicks (Shawshank, G.M.), Matt Damon movies (script sucks? I have a mute button), smart flicks with surprise endings, flicks that play with classic literature, artsy stuff, foreign stuff... etc...etc... etc....

Television:

I love Netflix.

Books:

Where is human nature so weak as in the bookstore?
Henry Ward Beecher
There is very little that is sexier than a man who appreciates good writing. A mind is a horrible thing to waste, but a glorious thing to SEDUCE. ..

Heroes:

"Every hero becomes a bore at last."
Ralph Waldo EmersonThe Grinch and The Brain haven't bored me yet, though.
"What are we going to do tonight, Brain?"
"Same thing we do every night, Pinky...."And my mom and her sisters, who taught me that being a good partner in life doesn't mean bending to every whim. It means being who you are, being independent, being intelligent, and keeping a sense of humor and love ever-present in your life.

I need a real conversation, not memories.

Though memories are nice, they ache deeply. They remind me of what I no longer have. What I need is a real conversation... one about what went wrong and when... an argument about why or why not this i...
