Please consider this sobering statistic: Each week, over 500 homeless pets end up at the Miami-Dade Animal Services Unit. Without the intervention of rescue groups, only 1 in 3 of these helpless animals has any chance of survival. Miami-Dade Rescue Railroad (MDRR) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization (made up entirely of animal-loving volunteers) that rescues and transports dogs and cats from Miami-Dade Animal Services, to no-kill facilities and foster homes throughout the state of Florida.
Help us continue our life-saving mission by contacting us about becoming a short-term foster or helping with transports. A 3 month old purebred Great Dane puppy. He was found by a rescuer in a secluded area. He was shot FOUR times (face, throat, penis, leg) and survived. They think he laid there for 3 days after being shot without any food, water, or medical attention. He truly is a miracle. When I met him, I realized why I love dogs so much. He greeted me like he had known me for years. It never crossed his mind that it was my species who had hurt him tremendously. Such a sweet and gentle boy! Definitely one of the happiest dogs I have ever met! He was rescued by Allen Babcock Dog & Cat Rescue (http://www.petfinder.org/shelters/FL253.html). Cheryl did a fantastic job at nurturing him back to health. These people are heroes in my book!
