WHO IS AO?The industry revolves around money. In fact, the world pretty much revolves around money. He knows it. Ankit Oswal aka AO, an eighteen year old majoring in business economics at UCLA, knows it. Supply and demand; fans demand artists and artists supply these fans with mainstream music resulting in money for the label. Right? While continuously developing his trait through new songs AO has grasped the concept of a fan base and has promoted his music from his first CD The Time Is Now through Myspace and distribution. AO utilizes his personable and collective nature to build trust and support in new fans which translates into a potential consumer base. Plain and simple his music is universal, as cliché as that may sound. Although he is an artist with west coast influences his music is not of the typical west coast sound that legendary artists such as Pac, Dre, and Snoops have incorporated. He doesn’t restrain himself to only one style of hip hop. He likes his work to reach a wide spectrum of audiences, whether it's through club bangers, deeper lyrical tracks, or slow jams. His new CD entitled Only One Me contains flavor from hip hop that is found all over the country and with his smooth unorthodox voice and flow he gives a unique touch that has yet to hit the mainstream. He does his best to give the people what they want to hear by broadening his horizon but stay within its confines to portray a genuine image.
So lets get down to the nitty and gritty; why AO? What makes AO an artist worthy of label to spend money on. You hear people are hard working, driven, passionate, but he really does embody these characteristics. While others were hustling in the streets, working their nine to fives for minimum wage, AO was hustling with the books copping valedictorian of his high school and getting accepted into the one of the best colleges in the nation in UCLA as well as Berkley and USC. Not trying to blow his own horn, but this feat is not accomplished by most because it takes dedication to be overcome obstacles, block negative influences, and prioritizing ones time. Because he has demonstrated this once this is prime evidence that he can do it again and translate this drive into the music business. With the skills he possesses and the creative ideas he can bring to the table there is no question that he would not let his talents go to waste. Failure is not in his blood. AO can stand as individual and prove to aspiring cats that though education is a priority one can still have the ability to put down great music and appeal to all types of crowds. Steadily building his team of street promoters a deal can allow him to maximize his outreach and exposure. Platinum records, commercialized endorsements, and the spotlight are the pinnacle of an extremely successful career but success is reflected by the passion of music in ones soul, and AO is dedicated into translating this passion into something marketable that leaves a lasting impact on the listener.WHAT UP!
