Music:

I love Rock Music!...pretty much any other music, too: classical, jazz, country, electronic (i.e. house, two step, techno, etc...) Bjork and P.J. Harvey are my favorite female artists. I really like Ride a lot and Joy Division. Son Volt, Fugazi, Refused, Sigur Ros, Lost Patrol, Lene Lovich, Clinic, International Noise Conspiracy, Wire, Air, Le Tigre, Crass, Submission Hold, DJ Cam, Mnt. Goats, Tchaikovsky, Eddie Money, Queen, Letters Organize, Make up, Text, Against Me, Billy Holiday, Coltrane, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Herbert, Pharcyde, The Faint, Dinosaur Jr., Portishead, Isis, Kool Keith, Bikini Kill, Julie Ruin, Bratmobile, Franz Ferdinand, Nina Simone, Mashuga, At the Gates, Chumbawamba, Stooges, Belle and Sebastian, Broadcast, Stereolab, White Stripes, Aaron Copland, Bob Dylon, Culture Club, Devo, Rufus Wainright, Dining Rooms, Von Bondies, Beatles, Patty Smith, Radiohead, Pope and Oji, Theo Parish, Built to Spill, Lucinda Williams, Bright eyes, Misfits, Microphones, ColdCut, Sugar Cubes, K.U.K.L., Public Enemy, New York Dolls, Pachalbel, Plaid, Recloose, Richie Hawton, Postal Service, The Verve, Death Cab for Cutie, Ramones, Richard Hell and Voidoids, Snoop, Fanny Pack, Michael Jackson, Prince, T. Rex, Stan Getz, Ramones, The Kills, Cure, Will Oldham, Stockhausen, Luke Vibert, Miss Kittin, Peaches, Amon Tobin, Ladytron, Johnny Thunders, Jill Scott, Ronnie Size, Outcast, Hot Water Music, Boards of Canada, Hives, Strokes, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Mozart, Bach, Decemberists, Thelonious Monk, The Stills, Ween, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs

Movies:

JP (for those not in "the know", JP stands for Jurassic Park), I totally dig french films, too: La Jette, Alphaville, L'Anne Dernier a Marienbad, and I love Dr. Zhivago. Omar Sharif is d'bomb, bitch! I guess I should be hip now and mention Wes Anderson, David Lynch, Cubrick, and Cohen Bros. movies. What...?.. They're really good. I also have to confess that I really like Strickly Ballroom. Sometimes, you just have to embrace cheesiness. I have to add that The Cronicle's of Narnia and Garden State were stinky!

Television:

Big Love is the awesomest television show about poligamyst mormons. And 30 Rock is totally rad, mad. I tried to watch So You Think You Can dance...what a sham!

Books:

I just finished Ayn Rand's We the Living. So epic...so sad...WOW!!! I'm into poetry, but my preference in poets changes with my mood. I re-read Celine books and Perec books. Yea, I'm a dorkus m'lorkus. I will say that Dr. Zhivago is awesome. I read one of Sam Shephard's poetry books not too long ago, and it made me cry--in a good way. Denis Jonson's Jesus' Son is one of the best books EVER. I also love Palahniuk's Invisible Monsters. Joyce's Dubliners is great, but the rest of his stuff is long-winded, drunken Irish bullshit. Nathanel West's A Cool Million and Celine's Journey to the End of the Night rock my world as does Robbe-Grillet's Jealousy and Weekend in Marienbad. Perec's Life a Users manual rules along with anything by Margaret Atwood. Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath is pretty descent of your in the mood to slit your wrist. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, any poem by Mayakovsky or Ted Berrigan, D.A. Levy, Rimbaud, Mina Loy, George Oppen, Bob Kaufman, Frank O'Hara, and Susan Howe, anything by Emma Goldman, Tom Wolfe, Tom Robinson, Kafka, Frederic Jameson, Annie Dillard, Heidegger, and Sartre, If on A winter's Night by Italo Calvino, Cane by Jean Tumor, Poe rules -- especially The Casque of Amontillado, and Colors of the Mountain by Da Chen.

Heroes:

My dad, of course.
