I am 21 years old and go to Florida Tech on a full scholarship. I'm studying to become an Ocean Engineer, but I will
be in school till I get my PHD; however, I’m only a junior undergrad now. I have been accused of being a nerd, jock, overachiever, and unfortunately a redneck because of my accent. I’m the type of person whose addicted to challenges: taking 20, 22 credit hour semesters, sometimes cycling 100-155 miles a day, swimming across the Indian River, or backpack in the winter, I love it all. My most comfortable environment is the outdoors, sleeping by a fire under the stars. Fortunately, most of my friends and I are Eagle Scouts, so we have great times. I teach a few kids private swim lessons for $gas. I’m not very social except when I ‘m stressed out; I’ll tell jokes or give everyone a hard time trying to put a smile on my face. "The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up."---Mark Twain-- I’m the morning type of person if you have not figured that out yet. I can wake up early to study, but once the sun goes down I’m not very social. So the only thing I can accomplish at night is reading, movies, and gym. I usually ignore girls who flirt a lot, a habit I developed when working two jobs with school. The two main activities that consume my day are studying and exercise. I have a brother who is 26 years old named Beau. I have not seen him for 4 yrs but he’s my best friend. He lives out in the middle of the desert in Wyoming on 40 acres with a wife and a lot of horses! I usually jog the beach down south every morning (if I’m not a school studying) at sunrise to get rid of stress, and for an early start on homework (yes I have to maintain my scholarship). So my current goals are: obtaining my own dive gear, learning to sail, windsurf, dance, and play the piano and violin. My goal is to travel the world with a career after college, and when I finally settle down I’d like to teach at a college.
Meeting At Night
by Robert Browning.
I.
The grey sea and the long black land;
And the yellow half-moon large and low;
And the startled little waves that leap
In fiery ringlets from their sleep,
As I gain the cove with pushing prow,
And quench its speed i' the slushy sand.
II.
Then a mile of warm sea-scented beach;
Three fields to cross till a farm appears;
A tap at the pane, the quick sharp scratch
And blue spurt of a lighted match,
And a voice less loud, thro' its joys and fears,
Than the two hearts beating each to each!

My Interests

One of my many hobbies is brewing wine. I love the chemistry of a glass of wine each night! I love the chemistry involed as much as the product. Since school has started I chose not to drink. It only takes one glass to keep me from getting up early. So, I have amasses quite a large collection since I'm not drinking. Lets just say I could open a bottle of quality wine every hour, for almost two weeks.

I'd like to meet:

"To love another person is to see the face of God." -Les MiserablesLOVERS' INFINITENESS.
by John Donne
IF yet I have not all thy love,
Dear, I shall never have it all ;
I cannot breathe one other sigh, to move,
Nor can intreat one other tear to fall ;
And all my treasure, which should purchase thee,
Sighs, tears, and oaths, and letters I have spent ;
Yet no more can be due to me,
Than at the bargain made was meant.
If then thy gift of love were partial,
That some to me, some should to others fall,
Dear, I shall never have thee all.

Or if then thou gavest me all,
All was but all, which thou hadst then ;
But if in thy heart since there be or shall
New love created be by other men,
Which have their stocks entire, and can in tears,
In sighs, in oaths, and letters, outbid me,
This new love may beget new fears,
For this love was not vow'd by thee.
And yet it was, thy gift being general ;
The ground, thy heart, is mine ; what ever shall
Grow there, dear, I should have it all.

Yet I would not have all yet.
He that hath all can have no more ;
And since my love doth every day admit
New growth, thou shouldst have new rewards in store ;
Thou canst not every day give me thy heart,
If thou canst give it, then thou never gavest it ;
Love's riddles are, that though thy heart depart,
It stays at home, and thou with losing savest it ;
But we will have a way more liberal,
Than changing hearts, to join them ; so we shall
Be one, and one another's all.

Music:

I listen to classical, country, 80's rock, reggae, Native American, and oldies. I listen to everything, but not rap. Bob Marley!!!

Movies:

So I live in Central Florida. It is a place without intellectual stimulation . There are no significant museums, just a dull easily pleased culture. Eight miles from the coast live the retired and surfers, outside of that live the country type. People move here to do nothing (retirement), or for water sports. That’s why we hold the greatest concentration of old retired people and cows. Most kids grow up to a career of landscaping or retail then they idealize their cars . So I’m going to get away to meet the other people of this world, outside of Central Florida. Its not that I don't like the place, I love it. The springs, beaches, rivers, cycling trails are countless. But, I guess I want to be around a more energetic culture, its just time to get away.

Books:

Hemingway, Robert Browning, John Donne...etc (many poets), and text books

Heroes:

Ernist Hemingway and Lance Armstrong are my greatest heros. They are the ultimate men. However all people have their character flaws. They both have not been honorable to women.
