About Me

It's hard to sum myself up, but I guess I'm going to have to. So here it goes...

I'm down-to-earth girl from COLOMBIA who LOVES and obsesses about traveling. I enjoy exotic food, great music, hanging out with friends and most of all, being with my family (that's you... hubby of mine, sis, and mom).

Oh, did I mention I love cats? yeah, I do. Not just like...ohhh how cute... NO! I love everything about them... but I'm not going to go into all of that right now.

I guess I can say I'm an adventurous girl. By this I mean that I love the outdoors, I love to experience and learn new things and I'm rarely afraid or grossed out by things.

My Interests

Traveling, nature/animals, spending time w/ my family & friends, music and the arts, YOGA, ohhh and good FOOD!!!

I'd like to meet:

Botero (famous artist from Colombia), Gabriel Garcia Marquez (famous writer from Colombia and one of my favorite writers of all times), Che Guevara (revolutionary... you know who he is) and... uhmmm I can't think of anyone else right now.

Music:

I love music and dancing, and although I'm not an expert by any means, I'm still pretty "picky" and particular about the music I listen to. I'm not going to list any bands/dj's/artists (sorry honey) but I'm going to give you an idea of what I like: downtempo, lounge, jazz, salsa, some hip-hop, instrumental (this includes classical music) and from time to time I enjoy dancing and listening to my spanish music.

Movies:

I'm a HUGE independent film freak. Especially if they are from a spanish speaking country. So it is no surprise that some of my favorite films are in spanish, these include: Talk to her, The motorcycle diaries, Y tu mama tambien, Amores Perros and La vendedora de Rosas. Some of my favorite movies are also french: Amelie and Blue.I also love watching documentaries with David (my hubby) and going to the Imax theater.

Television:

Since we've had DVR, David and I have indulged in the pleasures of TV. OK, I'm not exactly proud of our TV habits, but we do enjoy hanging out on the couch with our cat Zoe.

Books:

Most from Gabriel Garcia Marquez (100 anos de soledad, amor y otros demonios...), "Tropic of Cancer" from Henry Miller, "the unbearable lightness of being" from Milan Kundera and I love (although I really don't read them that much anymore) poems from Pablo Neruda.

Heroes:

My Dad and lately, my husband.
