DiCypher (Omair Mirza) & DiMorphic aka Tasadi (Taha Asadi) first met in 1997, while attending the same high school in Dallas. The two quickly hit off a great friendship with a lot of similar interests and hobbies of which music was one. In the summer of 1999, the two decided to further their passion for the music, more than just having an appreciation for electronic dance music. Scrapping up money together to buy their first pieces of equipment, which was modest at best, they began their journey to accomplish greatness. “The first time DiMorphic and I got our equipment and set it up in my parents living room, I will never forget,†DiCypher laughingly recalls. “We were using two low quality CD players, without the “nudge†option. To make things worse, we tried mixing pop tracks with progressive trance tracks, thinking we could make a “live remixâ€. We both vividly remember a friend of ours and my brother sitting and listening, laughing behind us, to which we got really upset, thinking that it sounded great. In actuality now that we look back, we see why they were laughing.†However, that experience didn’t hinder them in their vision. Over the course of the next year and a half, DiCypher & DiMorphic spent nearly eight hours a day, everyday, perfecting their art of mixing. As time progressed, the two started differing in their styles of music. The result was unconceivable. Now working with a blend of melodic and progressive trance, and progressive and deep house, their sets set them apart from any other DJs, with their versatility, and stage presence. Following the success of the first live gig, doors started opening for them. “I remember the first time we played, it was New Years Eve 2001, and we were given the 11:00 pm – 12:00 am time slot. We were both so nervous,†says DiMorphic. “But we did what we do best, and that’s send the crowd through a great journey of music that made people dance to no control.†Over the course of the next several years, DiCypher & DiMorphic had the honor to hold residencies at the hottest and most exclusive dance clubs in the Dallas Area. Playing for crowds of thousands of people over that time, solidified their confidence and their fan base grew exponentially. As the years went on, they were set to open for the biggest names in the world. Spinning alongside Skribble, Infected Mushroom, Andy Moor, Markus Schulz, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Dan and Armin Van Buuren. DiCypher & DiMorphic together had pioneered a new live presence including a great variety of music along with an amazing “live†show. “They enjoy themselves on stage probably more than anyone in their audience,†says Angela Kim, who is a friend and a fan that has been following their career for years. “Throughout their whole set every time, DiCypher constantly keeps dancing and they both keep the crowd pumped,†she says. “They come together to form such an amazing combination of music, which will set you into an incredible mind trip, and with them on stage, they will not let you stop moving. They are relentless and refuse to let up, and constantly surprise you with an amazing new tune, or a mash up of an old track that makes you reminisce, all the while keeping you on your toes going totally crazy.â€The next step in the duo’s career plan was to start Ariel Waves. Not only is Ariel Waves one of the United States’ fastest up and coming dance record labels, but Ariel Waves also does event promotion, and artist booking and management. The company was conceived in late 2005 with the goal in mind to excel in dance music. “We wanted to try something different than any other dance label in the US,†says DiCypher. “We wanted to release top quality dance music, but also push the envelope a little by hosting our own events, with our own artists, and on our own terms.†On the record label side, they already have signed artists like Vadim Zhukov (Russia), Probspot (Sweden), Leon Bolier (Netherlands), and Icone (Belgium). On the event promotion side of Ariel Waves, they not only host weekly nights in their hometown of Dallas, but also showcase world-class talent all over the US.The two are also the featured acts on global radio station Pure FM. They hold the primetime broadcast slot every Friday. Broadcast globally, the station gets several hundred thousand listeners tuned in weekly, broadening the fan base of DiCypher & DiMorphic from Los Angeles to Hong Kong, and Rio de Janeiro to Sydney. Each and every week they feature a guest mix from an international act. Thus far they have had Vadim Zhukov, Storyteller, Niklas Harding, Mr. Sam, Basic Perspective Austin Scott, Filo & Peri, Max Graham, Matt Darey, Joop, Thrillseekers, and Jeremy Word. In the following weeks, they have yet to feature Perry O Neil, Lange, Timo Maas, David West, Marco V, Paolo Mojo, Eddie Halliwell, Dave Aude, Abel Ramos, Chris Lake, Dimitri Andreas, and Adam Sheridan just to name a few. Pure FM has quickly become a significant ally of not only DiCypher & DiMorphic, but of Ariel Waves and their recording artists. Currently, DiCypher & DiMorphic hold a weekly residency on Thursday nights at Dallas’ premiere upscale nightclub, Minc. This amazing venue has been host to several incredible acts over the past few years. Both being fully determined to strive not only as DJs, but also as businessmen with Ariel Waves; sky is the limit for them. “We still love what we do, and it comes so naturally to us. It doesn’t actually seem like work you know,†says DiCypher. “We love getting up there, and playing and having people enjoy our music. That’s why we started in the first place, to showcase our music to the world, in hopes that people love it.â€
