About Me

I have many interest I suppose. I love to read. I mainly read classic philosophy books and mid-century fiction i.e. Kurt Vonnegut and Aldous Huxley. I also love to write and I am in the middle of a novel that I have been working on for sometime. It looks like I have about 4-6 months before it is done so I am getting excited about that.Movies are a big part of my life. I enjoy them as works of art but I also use them as a marker of times in my life. I think of a movie that I love and it reminds me of who I saw it with and what emotions the movie evoked. Watching memorable movies marks times of my life that I will cherish forever. To watch a director or actor's early works and follow their career and body of work is really interesting. The growth or decline of someones work is quite a fascinating phenomenom to witness.Cooking is a passion for me. There is nothing quite like finishing a new dish and having it met with approval. My favorite dish that I make is a shrimp scampi alfredo. While everyone raves about it I have to admit that it is merely an omage to the original at one of my favorite Italian restaraunts. I also am very proud of the Chinese food that I make. Many people are taken aback by the fact that it taste just like the restaraunt's but the fact is that it is simple to make when you remove the mystique of it. However the ability to make crab rangoons at home can cause an unhealthy situation.I love taking my son anywhere. He is truly my best friend. The fact that someone loves you unconditionally and that they think of you as the coolest person in the world is remarkable. He also loves movies and philosophy so we get along just fine.I attend Crossroads in Oakley and I love it. Every sunday is truly eye opening.I am passionate about art and I always have been. Art manifest itself in so many ways around us in architecture, paintings, music etc. I love art because it is in one moment a cummulation of a persons expressions and experiences. It will stand forever as a representation of the artist's soul for all of us to see. I don't think that there are many things much more intimate than that.In general I like to be diverse. I work in the beauty industry but I work on cars. I try not to limit myself in any way. If it is of interest then induldge yourself in it. I am forever trying to grow in this way. God went out of his way to create this world and it is up to us to enjoy it for all that it is worth which happens to be a lot.

silliness apparently continues to abound

So I am watching television with my son when my ears are accosted by the shrill voices of children singing "the song that never ends" and I begin to engage in the frivolous sort of thought of whi...

silliness abounds

Has anyone else ever attempted to write a sentence in parenthesis and end that sentence with a smiley face?  (That sort of sentence would look something like this except the part that I am writi...

My smile

I am feeling the need to write as my last blog was some time ago.  This time however I have no gripe nor epiphany to share as I oft do.  No this is just me talking about how I feel...

the possible return of my inner rockstar

I forgot how much I love to dance and go out.  I have certainly regained my interest in doing so here of late.  What is odd is that this isn’t new for me but rather old, very old. ...

From time to time I am compelled to speak out against transcendental simplicity.  For the most part I let these moments pass or rather I bottle them up until I find myself unable to contain the f...
