About Me

Hi, I'm Jim Burrows, also known as Brons or JimB (it rhymes with limb). I'm an aging hippy and a nerd. I've been married to Selma for over 30 years and am the proud papa of Brendan, Ian and Morgan. I spent more than 20 years working for DEC (aka Digital Equipment Corp) and over 10 working a TV Guide On Screen nee VideoGuide. I'm an amateur philosopher, historian, artist and genealogist.

My Interests

Softkey Left softkey Right

Music:

I enjoy just about everything except operatic singing. If I have to narrow it down, I really prefer 20th century improvisational music that doesn't become too discordant. That could be anything from Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton and Satchmo through the Duke, the Count and Benny Goodman to Elvis, the Beatles, Janis Joplin, Janis Ian, Eric Clapton, Santana and the Dead to The Squirrel Nut Zippers, Junoon, Mo'Rockin, Emilie Autumn, the Memphis Pilgrims and the Curmudgeons, Andrew Bird, Twiddle, 3 and Coheed & Cambria and Sidpa Bardo.
I have to confess that I'm the teensiest bit biased about the last few. Sidpa Bardo is my son Ian's band, and Josh and Joey Eppard of C&C and 3, are my cousin Jimmy's sons, and Jimmy played with the Curmudgeons and 12 other bands including The Band.

Protecting the Republic

The Democrats are failing us, as the recent FISA Court vote clearly demonstrates. They are not protecting our Civil Liberties, they are cowering before the political threats of a "politically weak" pr...
