About Me

I grew up in the woods of Missouri and always yearned for the mountains. My parents are whitewater paddlers and I learned to love and respect the rivers at a young age. After high school I joined the Navy and ended up in the Pacific Northwest. The land of rain forests, steep mountains, volcanoes and many, many rivers. Ahhh-paradise. After the Navy I did a short stint in construction before remembering all the river guides I had seen growing up paddling in the Appalachians living free and playing on the rivers. I went through guide training in 97 and have been living my dream ever since. Until the middle of the summer of 05 I had guided in the North Central Cascades on 11 different rivers such as the Skykomish, Sauk, Skagit, N. Fork Nooksack, Methow and Wenatchee just to name a few. Water ran low a few years ago and I have found myself here in the Columbia Gorge guiding on the White Salmon, Wind, Klickitat and Tieton. I used to dread the long rainy cold winters here in the Northwest until seven years ago when my freinds talked me into working at Stevens Pass Ski area . Now the winter is a wonderland of steep mountains and deep powder (thanks you guys). Wow-lovin life, hope to see ya out there! Check out my pics and videos for some fun adventures Ive had since last winter. You can also check out Wet Planet Rafting for more info(check out my blogs). I'd love to take you there!!! ...and remember your guide may look and smell like the survivor of more than one "goat rope"...just who you need for a wild ride through tough country, where the next fall of the river, as well as the company, can turn out to be unexpectedly hairy... and, as a reminder, that when it comes to the need for truly wild places, we are all in the same boat.

My Interests

Whitewater Rafting, Snowboarding, Wilderness Backpacking, Hiking, chillin and hangin out. Enjoying all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Multi-day rafting trips with good freinds, good food and lots of cold beer is one of my favorite past times."
