Ray Hooker comes from Amble by the Sea (The Friendliest Port) in north east England. During his youth he spent a lot of time in the folk clubs and pubs (and, once, a dance hall), as a solo artist, duo or band member throughout the north developing his own style and delivery of music, based upon the Blues, traditional and contemporary Folk as well as Rock, Pop and Soul.He may be a mixed-up kid, but he puts across his carefully chosen songs in a compelling manner. His collection of songs, some traditional, some of his own, some by his song-writing heroes, are interpreted with a virtuosity and a feeling particular to Ray's performances.JeanE was born in Montreal, Canada and grew up in Massachusetts and Florida. She found her first musical roots in her father's vast Country music collection. Somehow she acquired, (according to Ray - who witnesses it on a daily basis), that (uncanny) talent to remember the lyric, the whole lyric and nothing but the lyric of a song she has heard only once (or years ago) on the radio or whatever!JeanE developed her own individual and authentic vocal style which bears no comparison... she has her own voice!!!During the past three years Ray Hooker and JeanE have enjoyed success with their live performances in Baden-Württemberg, Hessen (especially Frankfurt and the environs), Rheinland Falz, Massachusetts, West Moor and Switzerland. They are happy playing large or small culture venues and open-air events as well as intimate pub gigs.They perform a mix of Country, Folk and Pop as a duo... with Ray delving into his solo repertoire (that dates back over more years than he is prepared to reveal!) during the sets!
