Poppycock!

About Me

http://kgi.vox.com/

"Deprivation is to me what daffodils were to Wordsworth." - Philip LarkinAtypical mid-thirties divorcee with a knack for blunt cynicism, living alone on Capitol Hill but attempting to psychologically live somewhere better. Giving up drinking is my new hobby for ought-seven. I enjoy long walks, short runs, and creme brulee. I am a firm believer in intellectual engagement and a fan of the fish-slapping dance. I like to explore and get lost and avoid looking at the map for as long as possible. I prefer to spend my time in cities, forests, lakes, and close to oceans. I prefer trains to cars. I am an excellent cook, but a terrible housekeeper. Listener to music and sounds and the things people say. I take photos with no people in them. I believe in absurdism.

My Interests

Space. Spicy Chai! Wine with lunch. Cheeses. The airport lounge. The novel. All night conversation. Going away. Coming back. Laziness. Coziness. Productivity. Netflixing. Observing. Walking as transportation. Taking the train. Missed connections. Reading the headlines. Spouting liberal hoo-ha. Quiet places. Hilarity. Characters. Intellectualizing. Staying neutral, like Switzerland. Olive oil. Chick peas. Paprika. At least 70% cacao. Shopping sprees. Random photography. Long drives. Bicyclette. Foreign currency. Cold clear lakes. Basque. Absurdism. Synesthesia. The Avocado. Being the non-drinker. Dry soda. Exposed brick. Rafters. Yoga. Quality socks. Poppycock.

sad but true

My final drink was Rainier in a can. I should have had another glass of champagne just to have a more appropriate end to my drinking career.
