I am finally ready to express some abstraction of who I am and it's going to be fabulous because that is what I am! You can read about my interests and specs elsewhere so here is where I am going to tell you what I'm really all about behind the veil visible to the naked eye. I am strong and deep as the sea, and most of you will only ever see the waves crashing on the shore, occassionally picking up random treasures tossed your way, able only to imagine what truly lies beyond in the deep depths of me. I enjoy life and I strive to see the beauty in all things, even those moments that make me shudder with despair or horror because in the beauty of these moments, if I can manage to see it, I find truth.
I think it is wonderful indeed to allow myself to float upon the ebb and flow of life to see where it may take me, but I also know what I want and how to get it. I was not born to much, having no father, very little family, even less money and material resources but much by way of disfuction, yet I have always somehow managed to always get what I need and usually everything I want. I honor effort above all things because if you try and fail it is far better than failing by default because you were too afraid to try. My greatest fear is fear itself because fear leaves us crippled by helplessness and weakness.
I am a witch, but please do not mistake that for Wiccan. There is a difference. I am religious and spiritual, but not in the way most people think of these things. Every action I take, word I speak and every thought I explore is a spiritual journey. I believe what I believe and it carries me through life each day, but those are my beliefs and I don't expect anyone else to share them. I am always pleased to encounter people who do share them, but I'm even more pleased when I can discuss spiritual matters with those who don't share my beliefs without engaging in a full-on religion bashing session. I believe in magick and greater Mysteries beyond our comprehension, but I also believe in the physical world. I will never deny what I see before me with the eyes the Lord and Lady have given me for the sake of some Mystery I can't even begin to understand.
Unlike many of my Pagan counterparts, I DO NOT enjoy RPGs, SciFi/Fantasy books/movies or things of that sort. Of course, who doesn't love a good SciFi/Fantasy flick - but it's just one very small, insigificant form of entertainment to me. I can't name all of the Tolkien characters followed by a character synopsis and nor would I want to. I have a secret loathing for the hardcore SciFi/Fantasy Geek (and I mean this in the most extreme of contexts, so don't start hatin' just because you like Lord of the Rings or D&D - although I will make jokes at your expense if you really play D&D, but it's all in good fun, I swear).
I often show my affection through sarcasm and jokes at your expense. You'll know if I'm being serious or just playing - I have what I call "The Look of Death" that I use to let you know I mean business. I love to laugh, especially at myself because it reminds me not to take myself too seriously, so by all means, throw back some jokes at my expense if you're so inspired. I'm not opposed to making a fool of myself in public if it provides an opportunity for everyone to have a good laugh. Laughter really is food for the soul and can make the the bleakest times more bearable if you just allow yourself that small luxury. I think laughter is beautiful, and there is no sound more inspiring than the sound of true, uninhibited laughter. It's ok to laugh at misfortune if there is some humor to be found in the situation and we shouldn't feel guilty for that part of ourselves that lets us see those humorous moments nestled in the darkness.I have quite a temper, which I've learned to control, but if you cross me you would be wise to run very fast as you're doing it. I can be mean, vengeful and I WILL hold a grudge if the damage is serious enough. Most of the time I let the little things roll by without a second thought because life is too short to waste precious time and energy being angry and hating people. If I do quarrel with you, unless it's a serious issue, I'll most likely blow up in a fierce but fast storm of fire and then be done with it as soon as it began, make amends and get on with our friendship. There is nothing I hate more than the "silent treatment". If we have an issue, lets get it out of our systems, argue if necessary, and move on. Things like that have a way of festering if you don't acknowledge them, explore them and either dispose of them or embrace them.Generally, I try to maintain a positive outlook, but I also know that sometimes you need to go down to those deep, dark, dirty places that bring out the worst in you. Sometimes you just need to cry for the sake of crying, yell for the sake of yelling or rage for the sake of raging. But on the other side of the coin you also need to smile for the sake of smiling, hug for the sake of hugging, and dance for the sake of dancing. Above all, I strive for balance, which is a part of that spirituality I mentioned earlier.This is just a very small picture of me - and it's still quite long for being so small. People are complicated, multi-layered creatures. I like to think I have a few extra layers, but maybe I just want to feel special and unique - don't we all?Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again!
