Capriece

If it is worth taking seriously, it is worth looking at sideways and laughing at it.

About Me

Mother of 4 grown children (all in college!), 'meema' to a wonderfully insiteful 8-yr-old and soon-to-be 'meema' to a new grandson. "Well-educated" but monetarily poor owner/recipient of several technical and college degrees, one of the latest is a BS in Health Education from St. John's University/College of St. Benedict in Minnesota (I have an amazing some 270 college credits, most upper division, and science minors to my credit as well). A nurse, among other titles, who doesn't allow my job(s) to define me. Lover of travel, learning, athletics (most types), and diverse other things and people.

My Interests

Children and people in general; athletics (of most types, such as softball, baseball, hockey and football); reading; movies; travel; some crafts; animals (have several pets and come from ranching family); very family oriented

I'd like to meet:

Curious people who are not snobs.

Music:

Rock and roll (most types of it 1950-present); classical; motown; country (old and new); jazz and blues; admit a distaste for most types of 'rap' music. Some favorites are: AC/DC; Fugees; Tracy Chapman; Aerosmith; Foghat; Charlie Daniels; Leon Redbone; Sam Haggar; George Thurogood.

Movies:

Tim Burton films; most old classics (1940-present); epics and musicals; action films; some 'chick flicks'; Dogma; Napoleon Dynamite; Godfather, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings; American Pie trilogy; most horror/suspense films; most 'Westerns'; most comedies (mainstream and off-the-wall); Monty Python films; lots of others.

Television:

'Psych' and 'House'; Law and Order; Mash; Monty Python; Trading Spaces; Animal Planet shows; Nat'l Geographic shows; History Channel shows; 'Sopranos'; 'Friends'; 'That 70's Show'

Books:

Some of Dan Brown; most James Mitchner; Kurt Vonegut; Ann Rice; Stephen King; 'All Creatures Great and Small' series from England; Tolkien; Zane Grey; 'And the Ladies from the Club'; the 'Song of Rhiannon' series; some fantasy, science fiction, fiction, non-fiction; nursing/medical journals; many other types of reading as well.

Heroes:

Everyone in my family and my husband are all pretty amazing people and most are my heroes in some way or another. Some in my family history have been pretty heroic people as well. These are the people I can grasp as heroes, not just world-wide historically heroic people.
