Miss Amy

Odd since 1981!

About Me

I'm a big nerd. I am pretty clumsy, and when I try to be cool, it doesn't fit. I am always reading several books at once. I sometimes snort when I laugh, and sometimes the characters I play onstage stay with me for a little while. I dabble in sketching, and playing the piano....I get really competetive when I play along with Jeopardy when I am watching, I will go as far as to start talking trash. I will just say it, I love beer, but it makes me even clumsier and snortier. (is this a word? it is now dammit!) I talk about London too much, and I will probably venture out of the country sometime again to Europe in the near future. Oh, and we have to play kickball in the rain again! London, I think it's my favorite city! I don't take bad pictures either huh?

My Interests

Theatre, acting/directing, reading, running, conversation, being pale, tap dancing for no apparent reason, pondering the universe, looking at art books for hours, spending the day enraptured at the zoo or Barnes and Noble (same thing right?) bowling for buffalo, using cellophane and lawn ornaments as pranking devices, shows about the paranormal, karaoke with pints, being fabulous, collecting boob bruises, talking to strangers, going to plays, meeting British people, getting crazy with the cheese whiz, drinking wine out of the bottle with a straw, entertaining myself backstage with happy meal toys, deep thoughts about stupid things, hugging people, spankings, mullets, premiereship football, and writing stories. Meet Paco II!

I'd like to meet:

Stong Bad, Jonathan Larson, Eric Cartman, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Plant, Edward Albee,Eddie Izzard, Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Mayer, A Ghost, A Pirate, Richard Coyle, Jack Davenport, A Boy Named Sue, A midget who doesn't run from me, Paula Vogel, and Tom Stoppard. Oh yeah, I would like to meet my lobster. If any information pertaining to the whereabouts of this individual is welcomed. I HAVE met Kevin Bacon, so I am the winner of the six degrees of Kevin Bacon FOREVER muahahahaha! As a fan of British Comedy, I must pitch The Office and Coupling on the BBC!Gotta Love The Office on the BBC!

Music:

Some favorites include, but aren't limited to: Silverchair, Led Zeppelin, John Mayer, The Dissociatives, Creedence Clearwater Revival, JOHNNY CASH, The Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, The Doors, STP, RHCP, NIN, Rage Against the Machine,Incubus, Beck, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Collective Soul, Lifehouse, The Darkness, Aerosmth, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Fuel, Sevedust, Nirvana, APC, Coldplay, Jet, U2, Pearl Jam, Goo Goo Dolls, The Calling, Lenny Kravitz, Metallica,DAVID BOWIE, THE BEATLES, Bush, Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, Alter Bridge, and Johnny Cummings (he is going to be huge mark my words!) and many others too numerous to name. I also have a thing for cast recordings. Some favorites are Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Rent, Gyspy, Spamalot, Les Miserables, and many others.

Movies:

The Princess Bride, RENT, The Very Long Engagement, Ameile, All Harry Potter Films, Chicago, Walk the Line, anything written by Shakespeare and put on film and old movies with Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly, or Judy Garland. I also like watching really bad B movies and making fun of them.

Television:

Grey's Anatomy, The (British) Office, House, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and any of the nerdy shows on the Discovery Channel and PBS. And thanks to my friends I am now a huge fan of Coupling on the BBC....I got sucked right in! I don't have a lot to say about tv.....I don't really watch it a lot.

Books:

I do love some Harry Potter, it's bordering on minor obsession. I like Dan Brown particularly the DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons. Other favorites include A Farwell to Arms (Hemmingway makes me want to drink), LOTR trilogy, Jane Austen anything, A Tale of Two Cities, Edgar Allen Poe, Tess of the Dubbervilles, I could keep going, but I will stop. I am always reading a book. I would rather read than watch, because 99.9% of the time the books are a lot better. When I am reading my imagination goes into overdrive...it's rad. I am very fond of playscripts, some of my favorite playwrights are Paula Vogel, Steven Dietz, William Shakespeare, and David Mamet. Can I just say that Tom Stoppard is a genius! Love his work! Gregory Macguire has become a favorite over the past few weeks and Chuck Palahnuik is brilliant as well.

Heroes:

My Granny, my parents, and my big brother Vance.
