I'm an aspiring MC based in Glastonbury, UK. My interest in Drum & Bass started back in the day listening to tape packs and feeling amazed by the vibe of the music and how certain MC's brought more energy to it. I went to my first rave which was put on by INTERFACE- a collective of DJ/ Producers who were pretty much the originators of the D&B scene in our small town. After that i was hooked! A few of my mates got decks and as I didn't have the funds to get my own I made my first attempts at MCing.
Soon after, I got my first set at an event called REBIRTH (big up FUZE).
I've been MCing for about four years now and I've played out fairly regularly at local D&B events including Foundation, Rebirth and Standby. My philosophy; in my opinion an MC needs to have lyrics. Its not about chatting breeze at a hundred miles per hour. Plus, an MC should be the connection between the crowd and the DJ and remember to shut up when appropriate to let the music breathe.
I like to keep my lyrics fresh because I enjoy writing them almost as much as performing them. Every rave I've MC'd at so far I've made sure I've had a few NEW bars to spit. Whether its MCing on a stage or brocking out on the dance floor, I'm just happy to be involved in some way in this music I love...I also mix Drum & Bass and a little Dubstep (just for fun) and dabble in writing graffiti.Recently, I've been writing a few lyrics for grime and hip hop tracks collaborating with MC Skinz & MC Fergi Boi.
